Cleaning/Storing the Dress?

Oh - and I forgot. What do I do with my dress now that the day is over? I want to dry clean it, but have no idea where to go. Are there people who also preserve them or something for you? Any advice and recs would be greatly appreciated!

I'm having a TTD session, and then donating it to Brides Against Breas Cancer, but if I was going to keep it, I would send it to this place:http://jscheer.com/ There was debate awhile ago on the Nest about this, and while several people also recommended WedClean, a few professional museum curator/costumers chimed in to say that JScheer was a billion times better at preservation.

I used Widmer's to preserve and dry clean my dress.  Once it is cleaned, they seal it in a box with a celophane window so you can see it.  I think it costs about $300?  You might want to call them and ask for more details.  Good luck and congratulations!  http://widmerscleaners.com/drycleaning.aspx

cdefesco,Is your box actually sealed?  If so, that's REALLY really bad for the gown.  The following is from JScheer's website, but I know WedClean tells you the same thing, as do the other national preservation companies:"Sealing traps moisture in the box, promoting mold and mildew growth, which will stain and weaken the fibers of your dress. Also, if you open a sealed box, the rush of air into the box will rapidly reoxygenate the chamber, causing fiber deterioration. "
