Shuttle Buses/Charter Buses Pricing?

Hello - I don't post much but I am always checking in on this board! Had a quick question as I am starting to finalize my overall "goal" budget for my 10-09-10 wedding.Does anyone know a good place to start looking for pricing for a charter bus/school bus/trolley service? My ceremony is going to be in Bethesda and the reception in Rockville. Depending on cost I'd like to cart the guests back and forth from hotel to church then to reception and then to the hotel at the end of the night. If that's way too much (which it probably will be) then I'd like to at least offer a bus to guests to get back to the hotel after the reception to avoid drinking and driving issues. Thanks in advance!

I don't know much as far as shuttling people everywhere but depending on how close your reception site is to your hotel I'd see if the hotel provides any kind of shuttle. We're using the Hilton Garden Inn just down the street from our reception and they will shuttle our guests to the reception and back to the hotel. We have to pay $50 to get everyone back cause they only runt he shuttles till 11:30 and that's when our reception ends. After our ceremony we're encouraging our guests to head back over to the hotel and check in (if they're local people since we don't want them drunk drving) or freshen up or whatever and leave their cars there to take the shuttle bus.

We were looking into hiring a minibus to take our guests from hotel to venue, and I found a transportation company that offers 14-person mini-coaches on demand, more like a taxi service. You can arrange it in advance, but you pay per trip, no 3-hour minimum booking, no paying by the hour for the bus to sit outside your venue until the reception is over.http://www.vanandlimo.com/ I calculated the cost, it would have been 50% cheaper to use this service vs a more traditional car service.Ultimately, we decided to go with a hotel that offers a free shuttle, so we don't need it, but I hope this helps!!

Try ALA Ride - another Knottie rec'd it and had a great experience.  They will email you a quote within a day or two - visit their website.  I found it to be a lot cheaper then the bigger trans. companies like Reston and Chariots for Hire.

We had a 24 person shuttle going back and forth between locations for 10 hours.  It ran 850 including tip (ING Limo)-- the quotes we got went as high as 200 more than that not including tip.  ING was great, I was worried because all the key people went on the first 2 shuttles so we just hoped that it worked for everyone else and it did.
