New Here!

I have really enjoyed all of the resources on TheKnot and finally stumbled into the community today!Eric proposed on September 6th at the Kansas Ctiy Renaissance Festival after a treasure hunt [it was a fake letterbox if any of you are boxers]. The ring is a puzzle ring with a marquise cut diamond in the center, and a round ruby[his birthstone] on one side and a blue topaz[my birthstone] on the other side. We've set the date for Sunday, June 20, 2010 - Father's Day. The ceremony will be at a gazebo in a popular park in Lawrence, KS. The wedding party photos will be done on the campus of the University of Kansas. Our reception will be at a Knights of Columbus hall just 5 minutes from the ceremony location. Our colors are red and blue in order to match the ring and a semi KU-themed wedding. We're still looking for a photographer, cake, caterer, flowers, etc.I just wanted to share my story, and introduce myself. I really look forward to experiencing this wonderful planning process with all of you! Explanation of the ring: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ua8VjseC6bMWedding Site [still under construction, but has a decent start]http://sites.google.com/site/ericandjessica2010/

Welcome to the board!!!  Sounds like a fun theme.  I'm not getting married in Kansas City, but I've heard great things about Hyvee for flowers on here.  I am using a photographer from around here.  Her name is Heather Gregory.  She owns Shutter Happy Studios and is awesome!  I love her work.  www.shutterhappystudios.comBe sure to post a pic of that ring!  Sounds cute.  Hope thats a start at helping.

Congratulations and welcome! Just FYI, the link to your wedding site didn't work for me -- it took me to a log in page, then it told me I didn't have permission to view the page. Don't know if it's my computer or if it was that way for everyone. ROCK CHALK JAYHAWK - KU! :)
