Flower Sharing?

Hi Knotties, I am getting married on October 23rd and want to throw an idea out there. I have 10 flower centerpieces comprising of pink and purple flowers (my wedding colors). Since I'm not picky about the kinds of flowers as long as the colors match, my florist will be putting together an assortment of whatever she finds the freshest from the wholesaler. She has quoted me $125 - $150 for each tall centerpiece and $50 - $65 for each low centerpiece (final price will depend on the type of flower actually used). I am having a Friday night wedding and was hoping to find a Saturday/Sunday bride to share flowers with. Obviously, I promise to take good care of the flowers and can arrange for one of my BMs to deliver to your home/wedding site. Since I'll be using the flowers first, I'd be willing to pay 60% of total cost. Just trying to think creatively about how I can cut down cost because a few people who we didn't expect to come to our wedding is now coming . . . please let me know if you're interested! Thanks in advance!

If this doesn't work out, some other cost cutting ideas are to DIY the centerpieces by ordering flowers online. (I've herad fiftyflowers.com and sam's club recommended a lot) Another option is to do a flowerless centerpiece such as candles or fruit.

that is a new concept. i would not want to be on the receiving end of being the second bride and having to have flowers that were transported twice, knowing there might be a risk involved.

Yah not sure about the sharing of the flowers, I guess whatever works for you and another bride!  :)  But I agree with the last post, to cut down our costs of the flowers, we are going to be making our own centerpieces.  We are doing the tall cylinders with water and petals in them. I think at the florist they were between $65 and $100, so we just decided to do our own.  Should be fun!  But good luck in quest!  Hopefully it works out!!

Already married, but just wanted to say I love the idea of flower sharing and hope you can find someone to match up with. We didn't spend too much on flowers, but would've loved to find someone to share with, because we wound up tossing some and donating some to a local hospital.
