No Dress (Rant)

So my wedding is set for october of next year, which is great, but I'm also 6 months pregnant (we found out a month after he proposed) so I can't buy my dress yet. In that one month that we were engaged and didn't know we were expecting I found the dress I want, and I still love it, but I'm worried that they may not have it once I have the baby and get my body back to normal. I still want the same dress, so I'm going to be pretty upset if they don't sell it anymore, but there's no point in buying it now because it might look awful on my new body in six or so months. Grr... for the first time since finding out we are having a baby, I wish we were already married, so I wouldn't have to worry about both at the same time! I'm just really glad that Blue (I love the name we picked out) will be almost 10 months old when we have the wedding!

  • Your wedding will be so special with your new little one! I am very happy for you even if it does mix up the plans a bit. :) I know that you mentioned you'd love to get your body back to wear your dream dress, and I was wondering if you've set up a possible exercise plan to help you while pregnant if not just for after. I haven't been pregnant, but I know that in my yoga class (hot room yoga even) we had a lady who was at least 6 months pregnant and she participated in most positions. They can offer alternative positions for you. If you're interested in something like that, you can keep your body toned up better without having to curve your eating. I know I love food, but these exercises helped me out in toning up my body. I moved away to school and there aren't any around so I'm missing out!

  • Yes, I take a prenatal yoga class, and its a lot like regular yoga, I just have to kinda spread my legs father apart to make room for my huge belly haha! And after I have this big little boy I'm probably going to be walking a lot more (I barely have the energy to make it to class :-p) and since its my wedding I'm going to really work hard on getting my body back. Or rather, since I had a bit of a "soft" body before I'm going to get it even better than before I was pregnant. I'm bound and determined to be a gorgeous freakin bride, even after having a baby! And I'm also thinking of "dancing" with the little one in the Mother/Son dance, but I want to make sure its okay with DF and his mother first...
  • Yoga is so fun! I hope it all works out for you!

  • The extra exercise will definitely help you to shed those extra pounds. When I got pregnant with my daughter, I went from weighing 105 lbs to 155 lbs the day before she was born. In 8 months, I was back down to 105 lbs, simply by doing targetted stretching and proper breathing techniques. Yoga should be the perfect choice to help you with that! By the way, double congragulations!!!!!
  • Make sure you don't overeat. While I was pregnant it took awhile for me to make it from 100 to 135 lbs whereas I noticed a lot of others gained several more pounds because they were constantly overeat or eat a bunch of junk food that didn't truly benefit either of them. Exersize helps a lot too. Yoga is great because it helps with breathing and flexibility. Though after you have your little one try to allow yourself time to heal before going back to a yoga routine. After he is born you can look at used dress sites if it's no longer sold or able to be ordered. Good luck and congratulations!
