Ok- so I made up two drafts yesterday. One sucked, and the other is mediocre (at best). I can't figure out what I don't like about it tho. Honest opinions please...

Your idea is good - but everything just jumps out all at once and I don't know what to look at first. (Does that make sense?)It looks like 3 separate pieces - the Steve & Sara and are Tying the Knot don't look as though they are joined to the top part.I think it needs to be tied together more and mabybe make the May 22, 2010 a little smaller (I love the font, btw) because it overpowers the rest of the piece.

I think it's really cute, but a bit too busy. Maybe try to make the font smaller. It all seems like it's really shoved in the boxes. You need a bit more 'white' space. (I say white, but blue/black - just space not filled by the text).

I think it's cute too! Maybe make the picture a little bigger and the date a little smaller though? It's such a cute pic and I think the words around it overpower it a little.

It's cute, but I don't like how the pic just jumps out and seems "cut out" if that makes sense. I'd do a pic with the background.

Cute start! I also fee like the way the day and month line up is kinda weird, since it basically says 22,2. Could you maybe delete the comma and the last 2, and have the 2010 come down from that (like a crossword puzzle, where the last 2 in 22 is the first 2 in 2010, if that makes any sense)?

Being picky, the date and year are a bit awkward. The direction they are going doesn't seem to flow with everything else. Very trendy and creative, though. I agree with everyone else. Maybe the date and year wouldn't seem awkward if there weren't so many other fonts and colors. The tying the knot part seems to separate. The font your names are in is very pretty but also doesn't tie in with anything else.

I agree with Kim, the picture is cute but it seems like it's just floating there. Is there a black stroke on the flourish? I'd probably remove that too so it would pop out on the blue. I do like the tying the knot font.

222 is a special number for us, hence why its weird like that. But yeah- I'll try to take the comma out and see if its any better. I wanted to use the cursive writing so I could continue using that same font on the back (where it will be more formal with 'invitation to follow etc) as well as using the same font on the invitations... but I could take it off. Maybe use the same font for our names? too busy- def agree! I'll have to tone things down a little. I think the colors are a bit much as well, I want to tone them down. I can't really make the pic bigger without it getting taller... and then I would have to make that whole square larger- unless the pic could go over to other squares. Or maybe I'll try a dif pic...

What's the name of that font? Do you like it?I think the whole thing is too dark. Black on blue or green is tough to read (and vice-versa). Is there something special with the scroll?Do you not like the background of the pic? You guys are kind of floating in mid-air since there's nothing grounding you.BTW-- Such a cute pic!

I'll post my epics here in a minute- they are uploading right now... it need a background? I never even thought of that... I'll have to play around with it when I get home. I tried to model it after some STDs I found when I googled 'poster std'. I dunno...

I agree with everyone else! This may be cheesy, but I like seeing when people tie visuals into their wording. For example, having a knot somewhere or rope or something (without it getting all nautical!). Again, it may be cheesy, but I like it. Like, if you had a picture of pretending to leap off a bridge or something, with the caption, "Steve & Sara are taking the leap!" HTH! Cute pic, though and hope to see the e-pics soon! :-)

If you took the blue out and put the year all in one line, I don't think it would be bad at all!You said 222 is a thing between you and FI, but does anyone else know about this? If not, it's just not making sense.

yeah, I was thinking that too- by 'thing' I mean, he "asked me out" on Feb.22 at 2:22 in the morning. and we've kinda took it from there... I think the swirly things in the first draft are a bit much... Hopefully I have another draft tomorrow.
