My Husband and I are back from our Honeymoon in Ocho Rios, Jamaica and slowly beginning to get back on the regular day-to-day grind. I wanted to take a moment and post some vendor reviews as everyone here has been very helpful and offered some excellent vendors to research throughout our planning: Cake: Fancy Cake Shop, Carlisle (
www.fancycakeshop.com) Our wedding cake was a vanilla/chocolate blend and was beautifully created and carefully delivered by the Fancy Cake Shop. Joe and I liked the fact that the individual who delivered and set up the cake left their contact information with someone at the Radisson in case we had any concerns whatsoever with the cake during our walkthrough of the reception room. Pricing was reasonable and they were a great vendor to work with throughout. Reception: Radisson Penn Harris, Camp Hill I can’t say enough good things about the staff at the Radisson. Our evening went very smoothly and we were not pressured in any way by the staff to get things going or move things along. We were able to enjoy our reception at our own pace and control the formalities. The quality of the food was excellent and the reception area was set up exactly the way we requested. Photographer: Richard Prenger, Hanover (
www.prengerphoto.com) A friend of ours referred us to Richard Prenger, and we are so glad they did. He brought along his daughter to assist him with the pictures and Joe and I were pleased with Richard’s pacing and sense of humor throughout. He had everything timed properly before the ceremony and ran through the post ceremony pictures keeping those who needed to be around in the vicinity of our picture shoot. We received some teaser photographs via his website, but are still waiting for the final pictures to arrive. DJ: Mark Hoover, Mechanicsburg (
www.djmarkhoover.com) Mark is a phenomenal DJ! No crazy stuff, banner advertisements or anything cheesy. He’s very professional in what he does and he moved the night along very nicely allowing us to make the decisions as far as when we were ready to do our formalities. Mark also took the time to ensure the photographer and videographer were ready for each formality prior to announcing them. He had ¾ of our guests of various ages up on the dance floor dancing to a wide variety of music and genres all night long Excellent service! Videographer: Brad Carlson, Dillsburg (web.mac.com/videomovieguy) Brad was very professional and courteous with everything prior to our wedding. Quick in answering questions or addressing possible concerns. He was very helpful throughout our rehearsal in using his prior experience to help us with positions and placements. Throughout our wedding day, we barely even knew he was around doing video work with the exception of a few obvious times. During our reception, Brad spoke to us and said he was very pleased with the video work so far and looks forward to post editing. We received our wedding video on Monday, October 5, exactly 16 days after our wedding date and it is everything we could have hoped for and more. Brad did a marvelous job of tying everything together and the quality of the sound and picture are excellent for the price! My Husband and I are very pleased with Brad's services. Florist: Garden Bouquet (
www.thegardenbouquet.com) Robin at The Garden Bouquet was very personable and friendly throughout the entire process. Our bouquets, boutenirs, etc. were exactly what we requested, fresh and beautiful. Robin even took the time to prepare the aisles at our Church for our ceremony with bows and roses also. Best of luck to those who are planning. I hope this information is helpful. Melinda 09/19/09
