Brides Maids Dresses...???

I am having the hardest time finding green brides maid dresses that are in a decent price range. I dont want my maids to have to pay for than $150. I have found sooo many ones that I love from J. Crew but they are soo expensive! Anyone have any good ideas of places to look???

Re: Brides Maids Dresses...???

  • Nordstrom.com, dillards.com, bluefly.com, maybe David's Bridal.   Or look on eBay for the J. Crew ones. I've seen a ton of brand-new J. Crew dresses on eBay for less than a hundred dollars each.

  • Most of David's Bridal's dresses are under $150.Pearl's Place, RK Bridal and Jay's Bridal all carry discounted bridesmaid dresses.  I believe those 3 are all brick and mortar stores.  Netbride is another, though I don't think they have an actual store.  Also check out JCPenney, Macy's, Nordstrom, Target, etc.
  • Start shopping sale racks.  However if you're not getting married until 2011, don't even start looking for about another year.
  • Jcrew offers 20% off coupons every 6 weeks or so which can make their dresses much closer to $150.  They also put almost all of them on sale every 3-4 months so you could wait until they all go on sale.  My friend just did this, I got my BM dress from Jcrew this week for only $80.  Even though they said they were final sale (no returns), JCrew makes exceptions for bridal parties so we could still return them if they didn't fit for some reason.
  • I went with DB because of their prices, I didn't want to make my BMs spend a butt load of money on a dress they will most likely wear once.Although I had a super CRAPPY experience with DB, their dresses were the cheapest I could find at $135. Davids ended up giving them free alterations because of the mess I had to deal with. You can see the dresses here:http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v233/SaraAlexine00/?action=view&current=ASW-35.jpgDon't know if thats the green you're looking for. If so, the color is olivine.

  • David's Bridal, like everybody else said, is comparatively inexpensive (I think the most expensive BM gown they have is like $160, most of them are cheaper). Also, if you get your own gown through them, your BP gets an additional $20 off their dresses. Also, if you use DB for the girls, Men's Wearhouse gives you a discount if you use them for your guys.

  • Depending on the style you are looking for, keep an eye on the Macy's clearance rack. No joke. I got a Calvin Klein dress for a formal work even for $30. I have found that the Macy's in the richest neighborhoods have the best clearance, because it gets cleared out too fast in less affluent places. At $30-$40/dress, you could just grab all the sizes you need and have them pay you back.

  • You have plenty of time- wait for the JCrew ones to go on sale.

  • Another idea would be to check stores like Marshall's and TJ Maxx. Sometimes they have duplicates of the same dress. I've paid about $25-$40 for nice cocktail dresses there. Anntaylor.com sometimes has good sales on their Weddings & Parties dresses.Ditto those who said to wait. If you're getting salon dresses, you can order around 6 months out, sometimes 4 months. If you're getting off-the-rack dresses from a regular store, you can wait until about 3 or 2 months out.
