Picnic Venue in Albany Area

I am planning my rehearsal dinner for our May 2010.  We wanted to do an upscale picnic, since the reception the next day is in an old mansion.  Does anyone know of any good barns or evening picnic spots?  Unfortunately, the Pruyn House Barn doesn't open until the next weekend.

I apologize for not having a good answer for your question, but i was wondering if you would mind telling me what is the old mansion where you are having your reception?  I'm having a huge problem finding an interesting venue for my wedding and reception next year.  Thanks a ton in advance!!!! :)

Crossings of Colonie park may be nice.  My fiance had a work even there last summer and he said it was really nice.  I think pavillion rental is $60. HTH
