Ceremony Musicians

This is my first time posting, but I was hoping I could find some help here. We are getting married in a catholic church this coming April, and I am not too thrilled with the music coordinator at the church. I would like to look at other options, but dont really know whats out there! Any suggestions? We only need the musicians for the ceremony since we have a DJ for the cocktail hour/reception.

Welcome!  For the organist, you will probably have to either use the church organist or pay her anyway (if she is a member of the American Guild of Organists).  I know this because my mom is a church organist, lol.We had a string trio in addition to an organist, Bella Corda http://www.bellacorda.comGood luck!

Welcome to the board.  I am also getting married in a Catholic Church and I will be using Party Of Three.  They have a piano/keyboard player who also sings and the other two play violin and one of the violin players also plays the trumpet.  They are familiar with Catholic ceremonies and know the general music that is allowed in Catholic Churches.   Their price is the same for a ceremony and for the full mass and I believe the cost is under $700.  Good luck!

We got married in a Catholic church also and used Grace Note Strings. They were very helpful when it came to planning out the ceremony (more so than the actual church) and they have different combination of instruments. We choose a violin and cello and I believe for just the ceremony it was around $425. GL

We didn't get married in a church but we did use Party of Three and loved them! They were great!
I'm pretty sure it's pronounced your mom's a moron and if you didn't have your name legally changed by the age of 22, so are you. Unless you're from another continent. -Groomz

I know this may be a little late, but perhaps it will help someone else looking at this thread, as well... I can recommend Craig Scott Entertainment for ceremony music (as well as reception bands). In addition to classic string quartets, they have a string quartet that plays modern music (Guns N' Roses, Journey, Coldplay, etc.) if you want something a little 'different'... but that quartet might only work for a wedding outside the church. Good luck!
