Need opinions... Drama

Alright...Has anyone here ever eaten Fuzzy's Tacos? My fiance and I LOVE it! Also alot of my family does too. We have decided to stick with the reception site that we have(it will be big enough) but now we have to decide on catering. The wedding itself will be at the Rose Chapel. The reception will be at the POA Bar in downtown fort worth. My dad works there and I was already familiar witht he site. So we will be having an open bar, and also a frozen margarita machine on top of that. We know no more than 65 guests will show up.So anyways.. Parents are PISSED that we are having Fuzzy's cater the event. (they wanted BBQ... i hate bbq... and it sounds super messy). I like mexican... my whole family likes mexican.. but they don't think this place is "Mexican" enough. My mom's side is mexican. So they told me they would pitch in more money to help.. which means they will cover all of the catering costs if THEY get to pick what food was catered. They really hate it THAT much.We were either going to have them  cater tacos or fajitas.. not sure. I mean... this reception is not going to be very formal. And it pisses me off that they would want to completely take over that part of the wedding and NOT want my FH and I opinion on what meal will be served at our OWN reception??Im rambling. What should I do? Cave and just pick something else? Does serving Tacos sound THAT tacky?? Their queso is SOOO good.. *drool*. I really dont want to spend more than $17/person(if you want to suggest other catering ideas).http://www.fuzzystacoshop.com/

I've never had Fuzzy's, but I've hears it was good. I thought it was fast food?If it were me, I would try to come to some kind of agreement with your family. Maybe you all could go eat at a place they think is "Mexican" enough and who knows, you might like it! Just try to keep an open mind. And if you really don't like the idea (after trying it, of course) maybe your family will understand. If money is an issue it may be better to go with something else so they will pitch in. But if you REALLY have your heart set on Fuzzy's then you might have to foot the bill.

...oops, hears=heard. Also I'll just add, a lot of things I thought I wanted for my wedding have changed because my mom made suggestions for things she thought would be better. At first I got offended, but I realized some of her ideas were a lot nicer than mine. Just keep an open mind. Don't forget what the wedding is really about!

No one says you have to take their money.  If you want Fuzzy Tacos and were already planning on paying for it then stick with your idea.I  went to a wedding with BBQ and it was tons of fun.  We had Italian food at our wedding.  Others would have said we were both crazy for having messy food at our weddings.  What I'm trying to say is almost anything can end up being messing if the situation is just right.

OMG I love Fuzzy's, and I thought about the same thing when I saw that they catered. I think alot of it is just going to depend on how it is presented. Maybe to Fajitas instead of tacos, and the rice (yummy), and whatever else. Go talk to them ask them for tips, you are probaly not the first on that has asked, maybe they have some items on the catering part they do not offer on the everyday menu and be surr ask them about presentation. If you do go talk to them let me know how it goes just page me. Now I want some shrimp tacos. *drools*

I should of read the entire post instead of skimming, but oh well I was excited about Fuzzys. also, there are/was some brides on here using cncatering for a Mexican dinner at less then $13 a person.

This is your wedding-not your parents.  So I would put my foot down and say, "No, we don't need your help.  We want Fuzzy's and that's that".  I think Fajitas are a better option than tacos.

Could you do Fuzzys for your rehersal dinner maybe and then let your parents help you pick a more traditional mexican food for the wedding? The fact that they offered  to pay is cool... think about what else you could do with the money you saved?

I'd say do what makes you happy!  If it were me, even if Fuzzy's was my favorite food in the world, I would totally trade it to have someone pay for all of the food.  That being said, if your parents are trying to make your event into something more formal that you ultimately won't be happy with, then I'd say put your foot down now.

I think Fajitas are a better option than tacos. Same here. As much as I love their tacos I think they are much too messy.
