  Good luck! I'm really sorry. I can only imagine the amount of stress that puts on you. I'd probably definetly check out the new photographers work. It could be fantastic and you're getting what sounds like a good deal in extras on top.

  Backyards don't exist in the area. LOL We live in an apartment and having it here is not an option because we'll never make our dinner reservations on time and more importantly 30 people woun't fit in my living room.  We choose our RD venue because it's up the block from the wedding venue. Winch is about 40 mins away.

  That's terrible about your photographer - but since you are getting some really good perks, I would just research their work and give them a call to see if you can meet with them to see stuff that's not online. It could end up working out for the best! I don't think venues would have a photographer "in house" if they didn't do great work. No one would like that.
  
  I don't understand what's up with your venue for not allowing you to do your rehearsal there. Mine is booked every night for weddings, so they just scheduled us to come in the morning before the wedding. Didn't they schedule your rehearsal with you? I would maybe see if you can just do it at a different time then right before your dinner.

  Our venue only books wedding rehearsals 2 weeks in advance.  So we went last night to book.  They have a fireman's convention all week and we would only be allowed there in the mornings.  We always knew there was a possibility of it not being available on the desired night but we weren't prepared for it not to be available any night that week.  All of the WP and VIPs work and 3 of them have to come from NYC so having a morning rehearsal was not an option. Since we are using a private room in a restaurant for an RD it had to be booked 6 months in advance so we can't cancel at this point. We also had to let our officiant know the date months ago so she didn't book another wedding that night. On a happy note though the RD restaurant said we can come half an hour early and use their space for the rehearsal.  It's not ideal but it all worked out.

  can you find anything online about the photographer? maybe like a blog board somewhere with the work they do? hopefully you can find something out. and its nice that at least they are working on you with a package to offer you...
