Escort cards question...

So we are giving all guests a choice of 3 options for their entree for the reception. Does anyone have any creative ideas on how to mark each card for the different meals so that the waitstaff knows who gets what? I've heard about gluing different colored rhinestones, etc. but I wanted to see if anyone had any experience with this or had a clever idea...

    We are doing different colored cardstock.  Similar to the pic below but with a bigger border.

    something simple would be to do punches in the corner of the cards.  a different punch is a different meal.

    I also saw a cute one where someone used a carrot sticker for veggie, a cow sticker for beef, and a rooster sticker for chicken.

    I am using various colors of small scrapbook flowers.  Our choices are steak, chicken, or ravioli alfredo.  Fortunately, the wedding colors are pewter, peach, and cream, so it just sort of makes sense for the darkest to be steak, peach/chicken, and cream/ravioli alfredo.  The flowers also stick up a little higher than the cards, so it will probably be easier to see.

    I've seen many different escort cards done. I  have to be honest I like the idea of using the carrot, cow and chicken idea. I've seen it done with stamps before and it was pretty self explanitory for the wait staff. That way they're not standing there trying to decypher the sticker or colors on the excort card.
