Tree Seedling Favors

We are considering tree seedlings as favors, and while I know many online companies sell such items, I wondered if anyone knows of local growers who may also provide such service. TIA.

I love this idea!   I was reading about some country that mandates it's newly weds to plant 12 trees after their wedding as a green initiative.I would check Petitti-- depending on timing they could probably get the seedlings going as a special order if they don't already have them.  They have greenhouses. Also Lowe's Greenhouse-- not related to the Lowe's home improvements store.  They are a smaller place (and do locally grown wedding flowers, too) I imagine you would have a good chance at getting these at either place.

Suncrest Gardens (Cuyahoga Falls) had some kind of promo arrangement with WKSU public radio where they were giving away seedlings to donating members. Maybe try contacting Suncrest to see if they'd have seedlings available for you to purchase?

Any luck with this idea?  I'm so wishing I had thought of that instead of the candy buffet.

Thanks for the advice. Unfortunately, I got really busy and forgot that I had posted this! :-)I haven't had a chance yet to contact the local growers you all suggested, but I hope to do so soon. In the meantime, I found online that the Arbor Day Foundation sells gift trees in reusable tubes that can double as birdfeeders. I'm loving that dual purpose, especially considering that FFIL is big into bird watching. They're priced at about $3 per tree, plus a small one-time flat fee if you want to have a label printed. I love the idea  of having it say something like "To all the branches on our tree of life, Thank You!" Along with our names and wedding date. I stole the quote from the Arbor Day site. We're also hoping to do a candy buffet as well, so if we do that I thought one tree per couple/family would be good. I'll let you know what I find out from local growers.
