Shuttle from reception to hotel

Is anyone providing a shuttle but to transport guests to the hotel after the reception?I've started looking into doing this, and it's expensive! But letting guests drive back to the hotel after they've had a drink or two doesn't seem like a great option, either.Does anyone have thoughs/advice on this? Recommendations of shuttle bus companies?

Our hotel had a free shuttle and we were able to arrange to have guests dropped off at the reception and then picked up later. Maybe this is an option for you?

We did provide a shuttle for our guests both to and from the hotel.  We sent an email out to our friends and people we knew who were staying at the hotel and told them what time to meet the shuttle.  We were also supposed to have 2 drop offs at the end of the night but everyone ended up staying until the end of the reception. It was expensive and honestly not something I necessarily wanted to do but my DH pushed for it.  It was a nice gesture and many of our friends thanked us for providing transportation so they could "enjoy" the reception a little more.  I don't think it's something that's totally necessary but your guests (especially younger ones) will appreciate it.We used ZBest for our limo and shuttle bus.  They were really great to deal with and our shuttle driver was awesome.  I want to say we paid somewhere around $875 for a 27 passenger bus.

Thanks for the advice so far! Sarah Kate -- the hotel we are probably going with does not have a shuttle :( I checked with a few hotels that do have shuttles, but none seemed too thrilled about us using it. I asked at the Radisson Cross Keys (saw that was your hotel!) and they said the shuttle would have to be back at the hotel and parked for the night by 10.30 pm, so that's not going to work. Most of my guests will be out of towners, so I'm going to have to offer a couple of trips of a 27-passenger bus there and back.

We were looking into a shuttle, and I found a transportation company that offers 14-person mini-coaches on demand, more like a taxi service. You can arrange it in advance, but you pay per trip ... no 3-hour minimum booking, no paying by the hour for the bus to sit outside your venue until the reception is over.http://www.vanandlimo.com/ I calculated the cost, it would have been 50% cheaper to use this service vs a more traditional car service.Ultimately, we decided to go with a hotel that offers a free shuttle, so we don't need it, but I hope this helps!!

We used Hunt Valley Motor Coach, and we had no issues what-so-ever.  Yes, it was pricey, but DH and I both knew that it was a priority for us.  The majority of our guests traveled to be at our wedding; we thought it was a nice gesture so they could enjoy themselves without having to worry about hopping back into a car after a long trip to get here.

I attempted to start pricing this out a few days ago.   Due to being married in prom season, many of the providers require a 6 hour minimum for rental.Charriots4Hire will charge a 3 hour minimum at $350 for a 35 ppl bus.  I figure I can book for pickup and then drop off at the end of the night.  Other services look to be around 1000k.  Its absurd really, since I only need the bus in total for 2 hours.

I'm using a touch of class limousine for shuttle service.  From what I researched I found them to be very reasonable, we are also using them for our limo service the day of.

We are doing this for our guests, but are doing it from the hotel to the ceremony, back to the hotel and then hotel to reception and back again. We are using American Limos and their prices are not horrible and have a variety of options available. Most of our guests are OOT and about 90% of the rest of our guests are staying at the hotel the night of to continue the party so we knew this was a must and it just takes everyone's mind off of having to drive and that worry.HTH!

I used a trolley (Americal Limo) from the hotel to reception and back. If you have a lot of guests they're do more then one trip. It was about $1700 for 6 hours. But...my guest loved it! So many of my guests said it was great not having to worry about getting back. My family and friends are big drinkers so this was a must for me.
