Wedding Coordinator Without Minimum Budget

Hello all. I am planning my wedding May 29, 2010 at the Gibbes Museum from Houston, TX and I definitely need the help of a wedding coordinator but got major sticker shock when I contacted one very talented person and found out about their minimum budget requirement and fee. I don't need someone who is going to handle everything and even mail out invitations but I at least need a day-of coordinator and decorating ideas and I would prefer someone who does floral design as well so I can work with one less vendor. I like that Ooh Events allows you to choose which services you need but I have also read some online complaints, mostly about getting in touch with them. If you have any recommendations or opinions to share I would be very grateful. Thanks!

    I am working with Megan Morgan at Luke Wilson Events for my Sept 27 wedding - for day of coordination.  Thus far, Megan has been amazing to work with.  She helps you to design your wedding and handles all your orders - delivery, set up, clean up.  Luke Wilson Events work with Kathryn Davenport of Lilium Designs - her flowers are stunning.  Check out Megan at www.lukesevents.com - good luck!  They did not mention a minimum budget for the wedding.

    I am using Carrie Glasscock of A Charleston Bride and they do their own flowers.  I am getting married in November and she has been wonderful so far!

    I am also using Megan Morgan with Fleur-Luke Wilson Special Events. I am using her as my DOC, and she is also helping me with my decor and floral design. She is also handling all of the rentals. So far I have really enjoyed working with her, she is always enthusiastic, and is always willing to help. She is also easy to get ahold of, and she returns calls and emails promptly. When I asked if she had a minimum budget, back in spring, she said no.

    I used OOH/Ooh! Events and they were awesome! Lisa always emailed me right back and they were very easy to get a hold of IMO, not to mention always cheerful and so sweet. My experience with them was near-flawless. GL!

    I'm using Emmy Loyd Brooks at Peacock Events as my day-of coordinator. She doesn't have a minimum budget for the DOC package (it's a flat $2,500). I'm getting married in October and she's been great. She gives you a lot more attention than just the day-of stuff, is always easy to get in touch with, and seems to know everyone in the industry.     I used Amanda A. Lewis from Southern Chic Weddings. I love her, she was above and beyond what I could've wished for. She doesn't do floral designs but I'm sure one of her assistants could be of further help. www.southernchicweddings.com southernchicweddings@gmail.com

    I used Stephanie Gibbes of Sweetgrass Events...she was perfect! A great friend of mine is using her for her wedding next month too. If I remember correctly, she charges about $500 for day of coordination. Phone: (843)819.3622 Email stephanie@sweetgrass-events.comGL!

    I am using Claire King with Mod Events. She is young and has great taste. She is a floral designer as well. She does day of coordinating for around $500, she is very speedy to responding to emails and very sweet. Contact her!

    A Charleston Bride is amazing. We just used them this past weekend for DOC and floral and it was fantastic.  My only regret was not using them for full service as it would have paid for itself. She exceeded our expectations. We got married in Charleston this past weekend but did the planning from a distance since we live in Boston.
