How much was your DOC?

I'm trying to determine if I have the budget for one. I've heard a lot of people say it's worth the money. Thanks!

Right now it's $450 - but that will likely go up if we have them do more (last minute things if they need to get done!)I would highly recommend Ana and Anne from Graceful Weddings. They are AWESOME. Plus there are two of them for the price of one of the others. They've been fanstastic thus far.

$450 and worth every cent. She's been great and we're still months away from the wedding. I'd definitely recommend Sheena Brown of Embellished Affairs. www.embellishedaffairs.com

we budgeted for it, it was $350 for ours and I recommend it bc I did a ton of projects and didnt trust anyone to set them up (nor did I want to make my BM's go thru that!).. we used Tabitha at Roberts & Company (www.robertseventplanning.com) ...  good luck :)

$450. She is doing the reception and the ceremony.  She doesnt do clean up though.  I would have like someone who could gather the items I plan on keeping from the reception site.  She is great though so I will deal with it!

We are paying $700, and it's really more "week-of"..she's called all our vendors, verified details, came up with a detailed timeline, and day-of, we get 4 people. My dad, who thinks everything wedding related is overpriced (he's right), said "this is the one thing that is worth what we're paying."

i agree if you can get one, do. i didn't and wish i had. i think when you have an eye for detail you expect others too as well! my family um, didn't. all sorts of things were set up bizarrely and the grooms, best man and dads changed in a room where ppl walked through after the ceremony! guests walked by socks and shoes and stuff just strewn about... god love 'em they tried but yeah, a DOC could have fixed a few things!

Haha MarylandWed that part about the socks made me laugh. Thanks for all your responses, ladies. Someone told me that the company they work for starts off over $1,000 and I thought that seemed way high.

I think it depends on what type of DOC you need.  Some do just Day Of coordinating and execution while others do more extensive planning and design.  We used Creative Forte Events www.weddingwire.com/creativeforteevents for ours some 5 years ago and they still keep in touch with us (anniversary cards, holiday cards, etc.)  I LOVED THE STAFF.  They jumped right in and took over the planning by calling all our vendors, doing the timeline, even suggesting DJ playlist and photog shots to speed up that loooong post-ceremony process.  They dressed up our wedding nite suite, made sure we had snacks while we waited, and just catered to us the entire day.  I highly recommend them, I refer them to every bride I know.  The prices in '05 for Day Of was $350, I'm sure it's probably higher now . . . everything is.  But, besides the wedding bands, it was the best money we spent for the wedding itself!  Good luck and congratulations.
