09/19 wedding

My dad did a lot of the planning and hiring for this wedding so I can't give reviews on everything but I will on the vendors I dealt with.Dress: Went to my local David's Bridal here in Maryland.  Leah assisted with finding my dress and she was awesome.  I just adored my dress.Catering for rehearsal:  My dad used Hog Wild BBQ (A). I didn't deal with them but they delivered food for the rehearsal and I hardly even noticed they were there. And the food was great.  The chicken was so good and everyone was raving about the pasta salad.  I would definately recommend them.Location: Ventura Pines Cottage, Holland, MI (A)- Loved it!  Found it through the knot and looked it up online.  My DH and I thought it was perfect and my dad booked it.  The house is beautiful ( I was ready to move in) and the yard looks right out over Lake Michigan.  We had so much fun there and were able to invite our close friends to come stay with us.  Our guests kept commenting on how beautiful the place was.Flowers: Picket Fence Floral in Holland (A+).  I don't recall the name of the lady I spoke with but I talked to her over the phone and told her I coming from out of state and what I needed.  I told her the price range I wanted to stay in and she said she could do it.  She asked what flowers I wanted and I told her just in season fall flowers and I didn't care what she put in the bouquets.  When I picked them up the day of the wedding, they were beautiful.  The bouquets were just so cute and my sisters (bridesmaids) loved them.  She did a terrific job.Hair: Salon Cheveux in Holland (A+).  I wasn't able to do a test run so I was told to bring a picture of what I wanted done.  Jamie styled my hair and I loved it.  It was exactly what I was looking for and it looked great.  My sisters also got their hair done and they looked terrific.  I also had my make up done by Erin and was very pleased with how it turned out.  We all looked gorgeous when they were done with us!Cake: Second Floor Bakery in Holland, MI (A-).  Also found this over the internet.  I called and left a message and Katie called me back quickly and emailed me a brochure with their cake information.  She said the easiest way to contact her was by email b/c she checks it all throughout the day.  When I had questions I would email her and she would usually respond within 1-2 days.  So sometimes the delay was a little aggravating but didn't really mind.  Only time it was a problem was when we were trying to make sure the check to pay for the cake had been received.  My mom and I both emailed and called her and did not hear from her for 2 days.  My mom finally got hold of her and she said Katie was a little snippy with her on the phone but called back later and apologized.  I picked up the cake the day of the wedding and it looked fantastic!  I just loved it.  It was exactly what I wanted and she did it off a picture that I had emailed her.  And boy was it delicious!  I didn't even get to actually have a piece of cake until 11pm and my dad was saying he didn't get to have any cake either.  We saw that there was only 2 pieces of cake left (almond) and we quickly ate them.  Sooo good!  The other flavor was chocolate truffle and from the small crumb I tasted of it it was also really good!DJ: My dad hired the same dj that did his and my stepmom's wedding years ago... Dance Tracks DJ (A+).  They were really good.  We only had about 50 guests at our wedding and I was worried about having enough people out on the dance floor.  Our DJ had the dance floor packed all night long.  It was great.  Everyone had such a great time dancing and partying.  The DJ even got our best man and groomsman to do a mini strip show to "I'm Too Sexy".  Very entertaining!  http://tinypic.com/r/dcsac0/4http://tinypic.com/r/2qw04ye/4http://tinypic.com/r/2eyxv92/4http://tinypic.com/r/nwfxwi/4http://tinypic.com/r/r04c37/4
