location ideas?!?!

Hello everyone,I am recently engaged and looking for locations for the ceremony and reception. I would like the ceremony outdoors and reception indoors, and want to keep it around 3 hours away from Sacramento or less. Looking for beach, vineyard or golf course maybe. Any suggestions?

Golf Courses in the general Sacramento area:  Serrano, The Ridge in Auburn, Granite Bay Golf Course.  Wilson VineyardsHalf Moon Bay has some gorgeous beach locations, yet very expensive.Maybe you'd like one of the hotels in Lake Tahoe that does weddings on the shore of the lake.Viaggio

We're getting married at the Ridge Golf Club in Auburn...we also looked at Winchester Country Club (in Meadow Vista)...like pp said, Serrano (EDH) is supposed to be beautiful as well.

There is a place I was looking at online that is in Tahoe - Round Hill Pines.  It's listed as a recreation type place, but it looked gorgeous on the website and it's on the beach with an outdoor patio type thing that has white tents.  I believe it's rhpbeach dot com

Half Moon Bay Golf Course it is about 1.5 hours away. We were originally not going to look there becasue we thought it was tied to the ritz carleton, but then my FI had us look anyways. The prices are incredibly reasonable for a Northern California wedding!

We are getting married at the Delta King and they can do the ceremony outside and reception indoors.... I don't think you would have any problem with the amount of people either! Oh, another really nice place is the "Victorian" in Roseville www.victorianroseville.com. That place is really pretty and they have outside ceremonies, indoor receptions... they do food, DJ'ing and even Officiate.... I've been to a couple of weddings there and it was very nice and a very pretty setting.. I think their costs are pretty reasonable too.

I just booked my venue after looking all over Northern California. Not sure if they all fit your criteria (really depends on the size of your wedding and budget) but here are a few of my favorites:-Madrona Manor in Healdsburg (vineyard views)-Villa Viscaya in Watsonville (private estate with amazing ocean views, probably only works for a smaller wedding)-Nestldown in Los Gatos (forest views, so beautiful)-Chateau Julien in Carmel (a little far away, vineyard)-Holly Farm in Carmel (far away, but amazing--my venue!)-Thomas Fogarty in Woodside (vineyard)Good luck!

Almost forgot about Tahoe! -Thunderbird Lodge (expensive, but beautiful) -Stanford Alpine Chalet (simple/rustic but VERY affordable, and your guests can all stay at the lodge)

You could also check out the Monte Verde Inn near Auburn, its very nice and reasonably priced. And you can do the ceremony outside and the reception inside the Inn. I dont know how you feel about tents, but some of the wineries in Amador / El Dorado are beautiful I think and you could do a ceremony outside there and then have a tent for the reception part.
