Good places to look for a dress?

I am planning on going shopping for wedding dresses soon and don't know much about the bridal shops in the Columbus area. Where do you recommend I look? I have a somewhat tight budget - wanting to spend up to $800ish on the dress, so I'm not interested in going to places that are way out of my budget.Any input would help! :)

I went to Trumpington Bridal House in Sunbury Ohio. Just north of Westerville. Kathy was amazing! It is a small boutique with a great selection of dresses. I found my dress there it was an $1100 dress on sale for $500! She will let you know what is in your budget and she'll tell you to put back the ones that aren't. Good luck!

David's Bridal. It's inexpensive, the people are nice, there's a pretty large selection, and you get to take the dress home the day you buy it. They are also much cheaper than many of the other stores.

Alan Ray Bridal in Dublin. They have a great selection, many designers that a lot of salons don't carry, and very personalized service. Did a beautiful job on my dress.

I got mine at Davids Bridal so far I give them a B-. I picked out a dress went to buy it and come to find out the WEDDING dress only came in missy sizes not womens... anyway I went to the location at sawmill location and found an even better dress that fit me perfect. So far with alterations, shoes, veil and a skirt I have spent about 850 including the dress. Their veils and shoes are pretty expensive and you could find just as nice stuff else where. About Trumpington Bridal House you need to make an apointment if you decide to go there. They have weird hours and I think they are only by appointment on Saturdays. GL

Alan Ray Bridal in Dublin is absolutely great!  David's Bridal was okay, but beware, they are a little pushy and on commission, so they really want you to buy there.  Their girls also aren't real knowledgeable about what looks the best on you for your body type, size, etc.  I got my dress at Alan Ray, it was a little more than I wanted to spend, but I got it for 20% off back in July of this year.  It is absolutely my princess dress.  I can't wait til it comes in!  I am getting married June 2010.  My dress should be in in January 2010.  So that is another tip...if you go with a designer dress, allow enough time, because it will usually take 6-8 months to come in, whereas David's Bridal, if they have it in stock, you can go home with it that day, you just have to have the alterations done.  With a designer gown, they do all the measurements and when it comes in it is fit to your height, bust, etc, no alterations needed.  The girl I worked with at Alan Ray was super knowledge and was straight up honest with me.  She pointed me in the right direction of the gowns that would look best on me and offered other advice and suggestions along the way.  If you go there, just make sure you get an appt. first, it is by appt. only to try on dresses.  Good Luck!

Wow! Besides the two of you that recommend Williminna at Wendy's, my friend also recommend her. She must be that great. I worked with Darlene (I believe that's her name) although she is friendly, I don't like her becoz she keeps pushing me to order the gown eventhough I'm not 100% sure. If I ever come back I should ask for Williminna

    Erin,
That's a great price for a pronovias . Was it a sample sale? Do you need to steam and press yourselves?
