Wedding Band

I'm starting to look for wedding bands. FI was given his grandfather's ring, so he will be using that.

I really like the look of eternity bands. On my wedding ring, I have a solitare and then below it two small canary diamonds on either side of the center stone. In my head I thought it would be cool to find an eternity band with alternating yellow and white stones. I found this:

I'm just worried it is too much bling for a wedding band? Are eternity bands reserved for anniversary rings?

Also, it isn't a typical look. Will it look weird used as a wedding band?

TIA

Re: Wedding Band

  • As far as I'm concerned, anything goes for a wedding band.  Is there any way you can post a pic of your e-ring so we can visualize the two together?  To me, it all depends on what looks good together.

  • I think it's pretty!  I think at this point a lot of people use the eternity bands for wedding bands, so I wouldn't worry about it.  I had the same thought when looking for mine, because in some stores is seemed like they were labeled "anniversary bands".  The one I decided on is not a typical wedding band either, so I say go for what you like!  Here's the one I'm getting:

    Thanks!

Do you think that much bling would look weird next to a solitaire? Maybe I should go somewhere and look at the two together...
  • I think it's beautiful :)
I was worried abotu too much bling too because I have a trellis with 3 diamonds (1 carat) and my band has little diamonds all across the top, but if the sets match, it doesn't look "too much". Can you try them on together first to see?

  • Yeah, I'd try to find something similar to try on next to the e-ring.  I first ordered one I really liked online, but when I tried it on, it took over next to my solitaire.  Always nice to see it and take a couple of pics to compare!

  • Make sure you try it on somewhere. I was looking around at wedding bands and just so happened to try one very similar on. It looked really pretty and was nice with my solitare, however the way it felt between my fingers was not so good. All of those diamonds are individually set so its a little thicker and higher than say, a channel set ring. White it was very pretty, for me personally it was uncomfortable.

    But.... ITS STILL SO PRETTY!

I had that thought too. So, a BM and I are going to look at local stores and try similar styles on. I doubt I will find one with alternating stones like that though. :)

    Yay, I'm excited now!
  • You can always ask the jewelry stores near you if you can have one made that you like.  My e-ring was not part of a set but the designer is making my wedding band to match the pave diamonds on the side of my e-ring.  Just a thought!

  • That band is killer!  Love it!  I agree that you should try it on, especially with your e-ring.  However, just simply speaking about the band, I think it's absolutely gorgeous and not too much for a wedding band.
