Hi Ladies,Trying to think of something different instead of a guest book or picture frame for guests to sign. If you did something different, I would love to hear! Thanks.
originally we were going to do a photobook, but eventually ended up painting our own platter for guests to sign... we have it on display right now, but i figure we may also use it for holidays... picture in my bio!
I'm doing a "wish bowl" - a large glass vase and index cards, essentially. I have a poem that asks the guests for their advice, and the cards are all decorated with rubber stamps. The supplies cost about $4 (vase and cards) and I did the stamping with a friend of mine who has a huge collection. After the wedding, I'll put them into a photo album with all of my RSVPs. I didn't want a traditional guest book, with just everyone's signatures. I knew I'd NEVER look at it, and this way it's more interesting, since the guests will give good wishes and advice.
I struggled with this a bit too. For my shower I got a WEdding memory book (which I'd never seen) and I thought is was just great. It's like a baby book for a wedding, when we met, the proposal, planning shower b parties etc. it even has places for pictures. Then there is a section for guests too. I'm definately more likely to look at it as a whole. My favorite thing though? My SIL did a photobooth B&W strips style. she asked guests to keep some and add some to the album and sign. Out of my price range but I jsut love that idea!
Love the wedding memory book idea!We are doing a "Polaroid-type" guest book. We'll have an instant camera, have someone snap photos of our guests, and then have a scrapbook, some photo stickies and fun pens available for them to sign around their picture. It's an expensive project but it's the only guest book idea that really got my attention. I absolutely love it.
Love Chayer's wish book idea, I wanted something like that done at my shower but of course I didnt mention it to anyone so how would they have known?Anywho, I did a photoalbum that I made on Shutterfly where I uploaded pictures of us starting from when we started dating all the way up to our engagement pictures. I left spaces on the pages for people to leave us a note. It's still kind of a guestbook but I think I will look at it more because it has pictures of us in it. People loved it and it came out great!
We did 2 things. I painted a platter and guests were able to sign that. I also had individual pages made and placed at all the tables with pens for people to fill out. It had a place for their names, How do you know the bride or groom? What is your fondest memory of the bride or groom? and a Well wishes section. We got some really funny ones I'll put all the pages into a book I had made and will be including table pictures we had made and other guest photos from the reception.
We did a photobooth. Photos came out four up. I had pages and scrap book supplies next to it, and guests cut up their strips, pasted them on a page, wrote a note and left in our basket. I've yet to tie the pages all together, but I LOVE looking at them.
