Ugly Chairs!

Hello all, Wasnt sure where to post this, but these chairs are sort of a nightmare...i am getting married next june in maine, at a beautiful place. my theme is soft with pinks, silvers, bows and pearls however the chairs at the table are big, old, and RED VELVET! the cost of renting chair covers is outrages and these chairs are too big for the average cover...whats a cheap, creative way to make these chairs work? thanks!!!

    Buy/Rent some cheap chair covers. If you get a neutral color, you can probably just sell them on TTT afterwards. Actually, check on TTT to see if anyone has any for sale! GL!

    Can you rent alternative chairs?  I don't know what it would be to get the big ol chairs out and the new in, but honestly around here the chairs rent for $2 ea and that's cheaper than you're gonna rent any chair covers or buy them unless you get a really go deal.  I think the only thing would be where you would put the others during the event.  May be something you could discuss with the venue.

    I wouldn't really worry about it too much.  People really aren't going to notice the chairs.

    Make your own covers. All you really have to cover is the top of the chair and not the part you sit on, as that will be under the table most of the time, or under you. For the top part, I would buy a lot os tulle and wrap it around artistically. If you add some flowers, or signs "Bride" and "Groom" in the back, you will get really nice effect without spending more than $20. Tulle is super cheap.
