MS Melissa Bouquet brides?

Hey ladies! I have a question about the Maggie Melissa Bouquet that (for some reason) the bridal shop I visited yesterday couldn't answer: I know a lot of the silk flowers on Maggies are just pinned on- does anyone know if the Melissa Bouquet flowers are pinned on? I love the dress, hate the sparkly crap on the Brooch version, and I know that Maggie dresses have pretty inferior silk flowers 99% of the time, so I wanted to remove the bodice flowers, and exchange the hip and back flowers with better quality (fabric and feather) flowers... (If they're pinned on I'm good, if they're tacked on I do need to worry about the bodice flowers leaving gaping holes....) Anyone know or have any ideas about this? Any help would rock- thanks ladies! The dress: (brooch, because the bouquet pics are two-toned (ick) and those bodice flowers are GOING AWAY!! lol)

Re: MS Melissa Bouquet brides?

 • I have never seen that dress in person but the bridal shop should have been able to call the warehouse in Utah and find out for you? Here is the photo so that everyone knows what you are talking about... I was a little confused at first! ;)
 • I actually just tried this on yesterday! On the sample I tried on the flowers were pinned on on the bodice and the hip, on the hip there is a vertical piece of fabric where the flower is pinned on but on the bodice there isn't anything so removing it completley wouldn't be a problem.  I actually didn't like them pinned on and asked if they could be sewn on during alterations so they weren't as floppy. I tried on the silk version but the taffeta is so much cheaper...have you by chance tried on a taffeta version?
 • I forgot to mention...I didn't check the flower on the back to see if it was pinned but I had asked if I could have it removed and she said yes and I believe she said they were all just pinned on
 • ajensen- I tried on the brooch taffeta version, very light weight, the fabric's certainly not the quality of silk but it's really nice! The silk version is in my budget but I might get the taffeta anyway because it was SO nice and lightweight (our ceremony's outside) ROCK ON that the bodice flowers are pinned on- thanks!! I'm ok with the hip and back flowers if they're tacked on, because I'm just going to replace them with feather flowers, but the bodice ones I want gone completely lol

 • Thanks! I actually tried on the Brooch version as well but never even realized that they were the same dress with different "accessories" and I think it was taffeta that I tried on but I'm going to call the store to check....the silk is also in my budget but the taffeta is so much cheaper I'm having a hard time justifying it...were you planning on the white or ivory color?
 • Ivory for sure, I'm super pasty and white would look terrible! I actually really prefer the Maggie "light gold" color, but I don't like the two-tone version of the Melissa and I'm going with gray BM dresses- gray and gold might look crappy :-/ What about you? White or Ivory?

 • I'd been thinking Ivory but not sure, the one I tried was white and I liked it but in general I'd been favoring ivory dresses...I wish that the stores carried each dress in each color and fabric, so I knew exactly what I was getting,oh well! I actually LOVE the flowers on the bodice and am going to try on the MS Josephine on Friday and then I'm deciding between that, Melissa Bouquet and a Mori Lee I liked, such decisions :)
