Rehearsal Dinner/ day after wedding brunch

Hi Lancaster brides!! I'm getting married in February and need suggestions on a place to have the reheasal dinner.  We are getting married at Mulberry Art Studio and I would like to find a place in the city so that I'm not having everyone drive all over the place.  Can't be too terribly expensive and I would love a more intimate place rather than a big banquet hall.  Also, we need suggestions for a place on Sunday to have a a brunch or breakfast with close family before they head back out of town.  Any suggestions?? Thanks girls!!

I looked at the Red Rose downtown, but they have no private room.  You can rent the whole restaurant but you have to pay a minimum amount.  We looked at Character's pub it was way too small.  Gibralters, Checkers Bistro, Doc Hollidays are all places we looked into.  We ended up going with Loxley's the new restaurant attached to the Heritage Hotel (it isn't near downtown).  But a pretty cool concept for a restaurant and the room we rented is fabulous!

Checkers is great but expensive for dinner. Checkers does have a brunch menu and if I remember correctly that wasn't too expensive. I really want to try brunch there! Iron Hill Brewery is nice for dinner too. They both have private rooms. The places where we usually love to eat are pubs in the city. I don't think they have private rooms though and would be way more on the casual side. (Molly's, Annie Bailey's, Quips-very small & there's no mistaking you are in an old building, but awesome food & people. We go almost every week.)

Also, Fenz, Loft Restaurant, and John J. Jeffries are a big hit in the area. They are all a little on the pricier side. JJJ is good but I haven't tried the others! It seems like dining in Lancaster is either expensive or very, very casual.Good luck!

The Brewing Company has a private room, and I thought Annie Bailey's did as well...
