Our cake was sooooo yummy!

One more post-wedding review! Our cake was fantastic!!! At the last minute we found this woman named Jeanette.. she works out of her home on the south side of the city. You would never believe that this woman bakes these cakes out of her house. They look so professional and beautifully crafted. Best of all, you know how sometimes bakery cakes can kind of taste like they came from a bakery? Her cakes are homemade and have that yummy taste that you can only seem to get from your grandma's baking. The cake was super moist and delicious. We ordered enough cake for 130 people and with 100 guests every single last piece of it was eaten by the end of the night! I highly recommend her!Best of all I paid next to nothing for my cake!!! My husband and I are going to take out top layer out of the freezer and eat it for our two month anniversary next week :)Cakes by Jeanette- you can look her up on facebook and she has lots of pictures posted there.Good luck to you all and enjoy every minute of the planning!

I'm glad you found a cake you loved, but it kind of irks me because it is actually ILLEGAL to run a food business out of your home in the city of Chicago. You got such a cheap price because this woman has 0 overhead, and doesn't have to pay for pesky things like business licenses or sanitation certificates.  It's one thing to make a cake for a friend or something, but to actually run a business out of your home kitchen isn't really fair to those other people who actually do everything above board. Sorry, rant over!
