Anyone here considering getting breast augmentation?

I was just wondering if any other brides were considering getting this surgery before their big day?

I have always thought about having the surgery done and now that I am getting married soon I would love to have it done before the wedding.. I know many people think this procedure is shallow but I really would like to have it done just to fill in my clothing a little better.. I have ALWAYS had an issue with all of my clothing being too big in the top area and I have already purchased my wedding dress and it is a little big in the chest area (she measured me while I had a padded bra on even though I explained to her specifically that I am a 32A.. oh well)

I wouldn't be getting anything too large or having a drastic change, I was thinking full B cup?  my dress is a corset back and has a little extra room in the top for boobage haha so I don't think I will have to get it altered if I do end up getting this surgery.

If you are considering getting this surgery before your wedding I would love to hear your thoughts on it..Smile

I've never considered breast augmentation, but I have considered getting my nose done, because I hate it and don't feel it goes well with my face.

That being said, I personally don't see anything wrong with it so long as you're doing it for you and not someone else. And so long as you don't get anything crazy ridiculous, which you already stated you wouldn't.

Do you mind my asking how old you are? I went from an A to a C between 18 and 20, so if you're young, I'd hold off, because you might still grow.
  • I am 22 about to be 23 so I wanted to wait until now for that reason. It definitely won't be anything too crazy, maybe just a full B I would die if I couldn't fit them into my wedding dress LOL.
  • I have had mine done but it was quite some time ago. When is your wedding? When you get them done your breasts are expecptionally high on you chest. They are pretty much in your face. Well at least mine were (i was also a 32 A...barley) and he filled them as much as he could and I still only turned out to be a full 32 B.  It took them a few months to settle down in a more natural position. But overall I am so glad I did it. My self esteem shot right up.

  • Awesome! I am glad you love them! If I was to get it done it would be at the beginning of June and the wedding is in October.. so that would be enough time right?

So comforting to hear someone else had theirs done! Smile
  • They should be settling by then. It mostly depends on your body type. But I have no regrets with mine!!! And no one can tell that they are fake. People are very suprised when I tell them.

Oh I would LOVE to get mine done.  I'm just barely a 34A.  It'd be ok if they were perky and full, but they're not.  For me it's more the shape than the size that bugs me.  I had a client tell me they saw me walking my dog one day and didn't realize it was me at first because I "looked like a 12 year old girl".  I would love to fill out a bra or a bathing suit top for once too.  I've heard you have to get them replaced every 10 years or so, is that true?

  • I am on the other side of the boat. I had a reduction done on the advise of my FI (I know don't faint). I knew I *needed* it done but just kept putting it off and putting it off. Oh my goodness it was the best thing (other than FI) I have ever done. I love how my clothes fit, how my back doesnt hurt, that I can buy pretty bras, no longer have grooves on my shoulders. I have had several surgeries that people might consider cosmetic and I don't regret any of them. Do what makes you feel better about yourself because in the end you are the one who has to live with you.

  • Very true guys! I have my consultation set up for next week! So excited! Thanks for sharing your thoughts! :D
  • My FI is paying for mine next year.  (I need to schedule it out quite a ways in advance due to kids schedules, work schedules and the fact I am having a tummy tuck at the same time so I will be in the hospital for 2-3 days)

I had gastric bypas about 7 years ago and went from a 42E down to a 36C.  However, that 35C need a serious push up bra to make them look like they should.  I am not changing the size that much, just going to a 36D, however, it will completly change the look of my body because it will put them where they should be.
  • I hear ya! I had mine done in 2010 and am so glad I did. I went from a 34A to a 32C and it is still natural looking on my body. Like a previous poster mentioned...they will sit VERY high for the first couple of months and won't really settle in until about 4 months later (in my experience at least) so I would recommend making sure you give yourself at least 4-6 months! Congrats on your engagement!

  • I made a deal with the devil (my fiance...ha) that I would have mine done after having children!  We get married in July, and he always jokes around that we're going to get right on that baby...  So silly.

  • Here I was thinking that I was alone in not having clothes fit properly because my chest is so small. I'm a 36 A (I have really wide ribs).  What fits ribs never fits my shoulders and boobs.  My FI doesn't understand why I came home from the mall today so upset- it sucks to try on dress after dress that was cut for a very different woman.
I found this AMAZING dress today that fit my chest and shoulders, but it was so tight on my ribs I could hardly breathe.  Talk about crushed... it was the only one left.

I wouldn't have my breasts augmented, but I do get it.
  • I seriously looked into it for about two seconds. I have lost about 50 pounds and feel like the girls look like an old lady's. But I know that we are planning on having children and I don't want to jeopardize breast feeding. I let FH know in a serious voice that I was having them done after babies but I don't think he realizes how serious I am. If I wasn't planning on having children then I probably would have already had them done!

<div>I spoke to a plastic surgeon recently and I mentioned a concern about breast feeding as well.  He said that implants have no affect on breast feeding.  </div>

  • For those wondering, usually you can breast feed fine after the surgery but not always...it really depends on the surgical technique and your specific anatomy. So if breastfeeding is important to you, just keep in mind there is a chance you might not be able to (but it's not a guaranteed thing that you can't)

I am also an A cup so I feel your pain...luckily I wear size 0 so I can usually fine clothes that fit but I have had plenty of those experiences of not filling in the top- unfortunately didn't get the big boob genes from my mom that my sister got! But my FI sincerely is totally happy with them so at least for now I'm not doing anything
