E-Ring fit?

Hi everyone, I just got my e-ring resized from a 5.75 to 4.5 but I am worried that it is still a tad big. I asked the jeweler how snug it's supposed to fit but he was a little vague about the answer. I know temperature makes the fit a little tighter but when I'm cold the ring feels so loose! I know it won't fall off - I tried shaking my hand and whether I'm hot or cold the ring won't go past my knuckle. If I push the ring against my finger, there's about 1/8" space in between. Is that normal? I'm a little warm right now so it feels like it's fitting better but the ring will still go halfway up my finger (under the knuckle) if I shake my hand. TIA!

Re: E-Ring fit?

  • Some days mine feel loose like you described and other days snug. I am going to have a jeweler add bumps inside of it that supposedly prevent it from spinning around on days it feels loose. I feel like if I get mine made smaller then it may bruise my knuckle when I take it on and off.
  • If it's not coming off, even when you're cold, you are probably fine.  Mine gets tight and loose depending on the temp/humidity.  But, if it bothers you, go talk to the jeweler again until you're sure that you're comfortable with its fit.  However, you don't want it to be so tight that it hurts when your fingers are swollen, either.
  • Mine also feels tight or loose depending on temperature. Since there are few things as uncomfortable and annoying as a tight ring I'd keep it as is provided it won't fall off. :)
  • It shouldn't be sliding down, even to your knuckle. But man, that ring is tiny! I'm a 7.25!

  • Wow! your ring finger is small! Mine's a 6 and mine does the exact thing...when its cold like it is now mine has the potential to slide off. Here's my suggestion...go to your jeweler and get a spacer for it during the winter months and have them cut it off when it starts getting too snug. It will seem like a pain to do this, but i promise you...it is well worth it considering the devastation you will be in if your e-ring goes missing.

  • I had to get mine sized twice, too.  Mine still swirled around my finger after I got it taken down half a size.  I insisted they take it down another 1/4 size, and I'm really glad I did.
  • Hello ladies, I am having a similar issue and would love some advice. I have small hands - my ring right now is a size 4.....yes a 4! My fiance worked very hard to find a ring I would love and still be small enough to fit my finger. But now that I have it on, I get nervous sometimes that its still too big. When im warm, it's fine. But when im not warm, the center stone is constantly turned to the side and can completly twist around.  Advice from friends and family so far has been that you will eventually grow into the ring and wish it wasn't too small to wear. After kids, etc. But shouldn't it fit right now??? Please help!
