WC Question

I wasn't going to hire a WC I thought I had everything under control. I went to a Bridal Show last weekend & talked w/a local WC she started asking me questions that I didn't have the answer to! Now I feel like I might need one maybe I am missing things I need or wont have everything together for the BIG day. What's your opinion: WC or NO WC? Her fee is $1,250.00 for the wedding day, is this too much (seems lot alot of $ to me for 6-8hrs. of help, of course it's all being to seem like alot for a 6-8hr. event) Thanks for your help ladies!P.S. I put this on my wedding month board they suggested I try my local board for pricing & advice.

I forgot to mention/explain this her DAY OF fee. I have done all the other work (found my venue, photographer, Singer/DJ, baker, etc..) This would be her coming to the rehersal breifly then the day of the wedding.

Hi and welcome!  I don't believe I have seen you post on here before, so tell us a little about yourself- the girls on this board are fantastic, and will help you with whatever you need!As far as a DOC (Day of Coordinator is what you are getting, versus a WC who does more through out the entire wedding process), it all depends.  Some girls on here get them, and swear by them, and other don't use them and don't seem to miss them.Who did you look into?  The two that are popular around this region are Erin Proud of Proud to Plan and Carina from Remember this Day.  Both are awesome (from what I hear), and worth every penny.  It's just a matter of who you mesh with the best.Personally, I haven't decided if I am having one, but I am honestly leading towards not.  We have a close family friend who does DOC on the side, and she said if we needed her, she would be glad to step up to the plate, but other than that, well, I just don't have $1k+ to spend on someone.  Some do, I don't, and that's what it boils down to.Like I said, others have used both, and loved them!  Donnalynn used Carina, and MrsJax used Erin, so each of them can give you a better idea of what worked, what didn't, and if it was worth it.

I think that depends on alot of things... Where are you having you reception? Do they provide a coordinator? I ask because, I got married at the Hartefeld, and I had 2 ladies that acted like coordinators, plus our personal waiter that ran his butt off for anything we needed... I personally didnt feel like we needed another WC. Also, another thing to think about is set up... Do you have alot of things to set up before? Candy buffets, DIY canterpieces, alot of decorations? If yes, and you or your family/friends have to set up, it might be a good idea. Im not sure about the price 1,250 does seem high to me... You can also look into Carina at Remember this Day or Erin from Proud to Plan - both are highly recommended on this and the Philly boards. GL!

I'm using Erin Proud from Proud to Plan for my wedding in a few weeks. I'm using her just for DOC. She's been great to work with! Throughout the wedding process I have sent her many emails with wedding questions, and it will be great to know that I don't have to worry about things on the day of because Erin and her assistant will be there to do that for me. Erin's DOC fee is under $1k....$1,250 does sound high. Call Erin and talk to her...that's what I did and I knew from that one phone call that she would be worth the extra money (we didn't budget for a DOC). GL!

I'm using Carina from Remember This Day. I think $1250 is a little high. Steph brought up a good point- if you only need a DOC - check with your reception venue to see if they provide a DOC also.
