Vows vs. Statement of Intent/Declaration of intent

Hey ladies!I am starting to write my own ceremony and I have been looking at TONS of examples online... and I am getting these two parts confused.  Whats the difference?I think of the statement of intent as the i love you for this and i will be that, etc.  and the vows as the "i do" part - but ive seen some where those are swapped....Im confused!  Any help?

    And then Im also getting confused about the words that people say at the ring exchange... those sound like vows too!Example: Groom:  With this ring, I give you my promiseThat from this day forwardWe will be as one.May my arms be your shelterMay we walk together through all thingsMay you feel deeply loved, for indeed you are.I promise to help you be who you want to be.With this ring, I give you my heartI have no greater gift to giveI promise I shall do my bestI will always try to be worthy of your love and respectAnd I am honored to call you my wife.

    I have all three of those things listed in my ceremony which is in my bio - you can take a look there as it might help.  Good Luck!
