I apologize in advance if this becomes a WOT...Back in my bar-going days one of my friends, A, started dating a guy that was bad news. She was always driving separate when we went out in Pittsburgh in case she had to go meet him somewhere. He rarely called unless he needed a ride so she'd get upset and drink very heavily. One night in the South Side, A was so drunk she couldn't walk. Someone else was going to drive her home, but she jumped in her car intending to drive herself. She kept passing out and slumping over the wheel! She called her a$$ BF and he told her to come pick him up somewhere. It got to the point that I called her parents in the middle of the night because she was going to kill herself if she tried to drive, and we didn't know what to do.She finally put her car in reverse and cut it really hard, and the wheel jutted out and started to run me over, starting at my foot and pulling my leg under the tire. Everyone was screaming, A just sat there looking at me out the window, and I'm half lying on the ground. It happened so fast, but when I saw my sister's face I really got scared. A finally put the car in drive, then DROVE OFF without a second glance.Had someone seen that happen there in the middle of a parking lot in the South Side, she could have been arrested for hit and run. Luckily my ankle was only severely bruised and I suffered no lasting damage. She's still dating the same BF three and a half years later and he's still and a$$. The hour we delayed her from leaving probably saved her life, but I never got an apology or a thank you.Moral of the story, don't let friends drink and drive, but also keep your own safety in mind!
