Has anyone used Hartwell Golf Club as their reception? I heard about it from a friend who is having her upcoming wedding there. She thinks it's awesome and the prices she describes me are very attractive. I just want to know thoughts before I go ahead and look further into it. http://www.hartwellrec.com

    I looked at it when I was venue searching. My mom actually found it and had us look. The pricing is definitely attractive, but it wasn't what I was looking for. I remember we spoke with a woman named Dixie who was really nice. The location is a little odd (IMO) and cosmetically it wasn't what I wanted, but everyone sees things differently! It has it's pros and cons like every other space. I'd say at least go look at it for yourself. Good luck!

    mollyfaye, thanks so much for responding! If you don't mind me asking, how was the location odd? Was it a bad part of town? My biggest concern is that the largest room appears to be a former basketball court! :/ I'll be sure to swing by and see it for myself and take your advice in mind!

    No problem! I will say that you are totally right about the main room. It still has the lines from being a basketball court. That was one of the things I couldn't get over, personally. It's not the best neighborhood, but that wasn't even my main issue with the location. When you turn onto the drive that leads you back to the club you drive through a huge chunk of power plant! It's crazy, there are towers and trucks everywhere. It's really bizarre. I couldn't get over it, but then again I hear I'm a little picky and controlling :)I hope you do check it out for yourself though, at least you'll know for sure that way. I promise I looked at every possible venue I could find before I finally decided.

    Sounds good! I am extremely particular about everything, and I know it can be a blessing and curse. Sounds like we are a bit similar! You can always email me too I'm at mftaylor0403 at yahoo dot com. I get emails pretty much immediately on my crackberry, and any updates to posts that I've followed on here too. I pretty much do nothing but plan and obsess so I'm always up for talking wedding!
