Virginia foods

In my OOT bags I want to include some food that is quintesential Virginia. I was thinking Virginia peanuts, but the places that I found to buy them online are pricey. Can anyone think of any "Virginia" food, or a cheap place to get Virginia peanuts. Thanks.

There are several "virginia" gourmet type stores in the area.  Try Olde Virginia Gourmet in Stafford off of Rt. 610 or Made in VA shop in downtown Fredericksburg.  Both would offer great ideas even if you decided not to buy at the store....

This is the best deal I could find on Virginia peanuts (this was several years ago).  When I ordered it was several months before the wedding and the guy called me the next day and said if these are for a wedding we can ship them the week before so the peanuts didn't go stale.  They arrived right on time Guests LOVED them in the bags.  And my helpers ate up all the extras while we were putting them together :)http://www.belmontpeanuts.com/inc/sdetail/74

There is a store in Old Towne called the Virginia Store. I definitely saw peanuts there last time I stopped in. Just in case you didn't want to buy them online. Also, you might be able to get some good idea on other VA items.
