BM Dress Dilemma - Need Advice!

I have seven BMs. One in Philly, three here, one in Richmond and two in LA. They range in sizes from a petite 4 to a bottom-heavy 12. One just had a baby, one is pregnant due in January and one is pregnant due in April. We've gone to DB (with no real luck, nothing looked that great on anyone and I wasn't jazzed about the colors). We decided to go to Aria. Well our appointment was on Sunday and we did not anticipate the Equality rally and it took us 90 minutes to get from Crystal City to Dupont and we missed all but 20 minutes of our appointment, so we didn't have time to try much on. I didn't like the satin materal and the other option would be $225/dress - which is about $75 more than I really wanted them to have to spend. I just wish the dresses would pick themselves and I'm really not being picky at this point. I've already said they could pick whatever style they wanted, but I wanted them all long and the same color. I just don't know where to look now?Our colors are aqua, light pink and strawberry pink. I wanted to do pink dresses, but I think at this point aqua would work too. Any ideas? Advice?

My bridesmaids ranged in size from 4 to 16, so I understand your dilemma! I found that the most flattering gowns for all body types have an empire waist and are made of chiffon. Chiffon is a "floaty" material and is very forgiving. My girls loved it for that reason. It was equally flattering on all of them. I bet it would look great even on pregnant women. My girls wore style 760 from Bari Jay in Blush Pink.  They were stunning! If you want to see pics email me.Oh, and they cost $119 each from netbride.com.

Basically I had the same problem, with BMs being in different places and different sizes.  I have 7 BMs and one female GM.  I gave them criteria and then let them choose the style they wanted.  This was what I told them:1) Bari-Jay, to keep the color the same2) Sage (Wisteria for the GM)3) Floor length4) Chiffon5) No trainsMost purchased their gowns via www.bestbridalprices.com. Some got them at local shops where they got measured for their size...but most were purchased online.  The one time I tried to go shopping for the dresses didn't work out and having such a huge range in sizes and shapes (size 2 to 20...come on) I figured it was best that they picked their own.  That way they determined the budget and I wouldn't hear any complaints because they picked it out, not me, lol.

    j. crew has great dresses at reasonable prices- another option if you really like the $225 dresses to subsidize the costs- that would be pretty expensive for you though!

I would suggest Alfred Angelo, too.  White Swan Bridal in Vienna has almost the whole selection of AA bridesmaid dresses.  They also sell the dresses for $50 off the tagged price.

i love this dress, it has about 10 different ways to tie so it is great for concealing and with the right undergarments it will look smooth and flat.. comes in plus sizes (just in case) and would be perfect for preg. bellies... hth... http://www.onewed.com/blog/savvy-scoop/2009/03/26/if-you-love-your-bridesmaids-let-them-do-twist

Oh I love the twist dress...I wish I had discovered that before my girls got their dresses.  I saw a wedding where they wore those dresses and it was very cute!
