Its the St. Augustine lighthouse. Lots of things have happened there and its supposed to be the most haunted lighthouse in America. Ghost Hunters (the tv show) has investigated twice there. It's really interesting to see what they find!! They actually capture a few things moving on camera at the top of the lighthouse, and the security motion light didnt even go off! A lot of stuff has happened there over the years, a lot of people died during the construction of the place, as well as lighthouse keepers who lived there. One lighthouse keeper's daughters died at a very young age there. They had this wooden cart on a railroad that went from the lighthouse to the river. They would load building materials up in it and push it down the hill to the river. Well the little girls liked to play in it and once they got in it and took a ride down to the river. It crashed into the river and both of the little girls died :( A lot of locals see a woman at the top of the lighthouse during really bad storms and they get a lot of phone calls to the police because of it. If you go in at night, you can hear a ladies voice from up at the top, and u can also hear whistling. I went in the lighthouse at night one time with my friends. It was INSANE!! All we had was glow sticks to light our way. We heard A LOT of creepy stuff and we caught a lot of voices and whistling on camera. When you go there, you just automatically get a creepy feeling about the place. My friends got married and had their reception inside the light keepers house and I had to help them decorate during the day. There were certain parts of the building where I would get completely freaked out, like someone was watching me. It is a really cool place! lol

This is why I love Saint Augustine. If you go, definitely take the walking ghost tour at night! Not so sure I buy into all of it but I think it is fun either way! Plus, you learn a lot of great history. The lighthouse is actually really beautiful. Funny that it is both beautiful and scary.

The haunted ghost tours are amazing! But, make sure u get put with a good person. One time I was put with a man who had a REAL hook hand!! he was freakin awesome!! lol another time i was put with a history major from flagler college. All she talked about was history of st augustine, not even anything about the ghosts! it was really boring!

We had a guy who was really good! And I went on a girls weekend trip with my MOH so it was even more scary without having DH there! We did it around 8 o'clock. They also have a train and boat tour but I think the one on foot is more scary.

The lighthouse definitely was creepy. We went BEFORE we saw that Ghost Hunters episode & that episode was the best one I've ever seen. I'm not an avid watcher of that kind of show but when we saw they were doing that particular lighthouse we watched since we were just there. But I think if you go somewhere & WANT to see things happen, etc. you *can* make your eyes see things that aren't real. Not saying it's not real. I'm just saying we can play tricks on ourselves.

I said this in the other thread already, but my dad owns the house closest to the lighthouse...Ive definetely heard all the rumors, and my dad swears he saw the woman on the top a couple of years ago! The really weird thing is the light reflects on the wall in the master bedroom in the house...normally it just looks like a light but every once in a while, it looks like an old mans face...really weird!! Other people have noticed it as well besides our family! I'm sure it has to do with a weather condition or something....:) Also we have a leather chair that no matter what we do, it always ends up turned towards the lighthouse when no ones been in the house for a while!

so...the lighthouse is so awesome that I'M GETTING MARRIED THERE!  Our date is 11/14/09 & there are only a handful of people aloud at the top during the 'ceremony'.  We are always thinking outside the box, and this is definitely right up our alley.  So...afterwards, our reception will have about 50 people at a local restaurant.  I'm so excited...I wish it was TODAY
