Poffie Girls

Has anyone been here or gotten their dress from here.  I have been shopping 8 times and still have not found the dress.  Most of the time I find a dress I like but can't find it in any store.  They seem to carry a lot of designers and I am wondering if it is worth the 3 hour drive?Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated

I have been there, that's where I found my dress. I didnt purchase it from them, I got it from pearl's place to save on the sales tax... anyway, my suggestion to you if it's possible is to go on a weekday or something like that, during an "off-time," I went with a friend on a Thursday evening and we had the whole place to ourselves. Their policy is to usually bring out dresses from the back room based on your description, but since there was no one else there, they let us go into the back and just browse through the inventory. They had gorgeous dresses, and the staff was pretty friendly.

Thanks.  I might try to see if i can go on Nov 11th because we have the day off but that would be driving 6 hours in one day, possibly with kids. :/.  Yikes. I am driving from raleigh.

I mean, you could definitely go on a weekend it's just usually way more crowded in there, you just dont get as much individual attention.... Cool, 11/11 is my bday :) Are you looking for a specific designer?

At this point I am open to just about anything under 2000.  Originally I wanted around 1000 but I can't seem to find those dresses.  They are online but never in the store. I am also really liking the 2010 lines which, of course, are sparatically in stores.  I emailed one store with 30 dress choices from 2009-2010 and they had 3 of them.  I like the Enzoani Blue line right now.  Pretty, classic and light material.  I am scared to call Poffie girls to ask them about it and have them say they don't have the ones I like. I am running out of time to find a dress and I just don't want to settle for something.

I love maggie's but literally NO ONE from NC, VA, MD, WV, SC or PA have the dresses I am looking for.  So i am going on to other designers. I don't have the balls to order a dress without trying it on.

NY Bridal Loft and Poffie Girls both have the Enzoni Line.  I think there's a store in Concord that carries Maggies but I could be wrong.  Don't forget you can always pay to have them bring a dress in...its normally like $50 $75 depending on the store and they credit the amount towards your purchase price if you buy a dress through them.  On a side note I had a hard time fitting into the Enzonis at Poffie Girls and I was around a size 10 at the time.  They seemed to be really narrow.  NY Bridal Loft I didn't have a problem with.

I got my dress from Poffie Girls (Enzoani) and had a really great experience. The sales staff is really nice & extremely helpful. They do have a large selection of dresses & usually have quite a few samples that can be sold off the rack.My SIL also went to Poffie Girls & had the same great experience I did.

I actually had stores tell me that they wouldn't order the dress for me to try on.  Only oneis ordering it and it will be here in December.  The other Maggies I have just given up on.I am a size 12.  Will I have a problem with Enzoani?

I had problems getting the enzonais on at Poffie girls.  some of them fit but most of them didn't.  To the point I didn't get to see what the dress would look like on me.  If you're making the trip down here it might be also worth checking out NY Bridal Loft off of south Blvd.  The ones I tried on at NY bridal fit really well.   Also if you're coming from Raleigh it's only 2.5 hours to Charlotte :)

I just called NY loft and they were awesome.  She assured me that I could order early January and still get my dress on time.  They are getting a ton of 2010 dresses in soon and I can make my appt to come in December.  She was awesome and I feel somewhat relieved. PHEW.

I have worked in a Charlotte bridal store for 6 years and I will tell you DO NOT WAIT until Jan!!! you will more than likely have to pay extra to rush it and if something is wrong they won't have enough time to fix it! I got my dress at Poffie girls and I would see Angie if you can! She is the manager and is really nice! My dress was a Casablanca but they havea  large selection in your price point. They had my dress the cheapest out of 4 places that I tried it on. Poffie Girls will DEF have it cheaper than NY bride and they can be kind of stuck up! Totally up to you but don't wait much longer! I bought my dress the middle of July and it is coming in the end of Dec or early Jan.! Just keep that in mind and if you are doing a portrait then you need to do that 6-8 weeks before the wedding too! HTH!Leslie

I don't have time for a portrait before the wedding.  I will have to do it after.I plan to have to rush the dress.  I just don't want to buy something to have a dress to wear.  I really do like 2010 lines by most designers so I am kindof stuck.  Maggie I heard is the one that takes the longest.

Freaking LOVE Poffie Girls.  I bought my first prom dress there when I was 15 (yeah, they've been around that long.  probably much much longer, lol).  They have the best selection of Maggie's I've seen in the area.  Really, best selection of under $2000 dresses in the area, too.  You will definitely find plenty under $2000, honestly, I didn't try anything on over $1000.  When you first go in, they have sample dresses on clearance for $250.  Some have never even been worn.  The newer dresses are in the back and they bring them out to you, like PP said.  Make sure you book an appointment, esp. if you come on a weekend.  P.S. they have a Christmas sale (week before thanksgiving - dec. 26, I think) and everything is 20% off, even Maggies.  (they probably have to eat the cost because I don't think Maggie allows discounts).Where are you coming from?  Dar-Lynn's in Matthews on highway 74 has a similar selection.  The service isn't as great but they are nice enough.

I am coming from the Raleigh/Cary area.  I thought I would make an appt for right after x-mas and hit both stores but if they stop the sale on the 26th I might have to go before.  I just am running out of time to plan all this stuff and I have 2 children to lug with me and i am broke :). LOL OY.
