favor help

Hi ladies! I'm planning a 2010 fall wedding and want to do jams and jellies in cute little jelly jars as my favors. I'd like to get a variety of shapes and sizes so I have been looking at garage sales, craigslist, etc. to ty to find a bunch of different ones. I was curious if anyone had any suggestions of where I could find some that I maybe haven't been looking? I've had minimal luck so far and it's nearly time to can the grapes... I can always buy them new but they are more expensive that way and I wouldn't get the whole hodge-podge effect... Any suggestions would be great! Thanks!

I'm considering doing the same idea. I would try your local thrift store, too. I'm curious, what size jars were you thinking of using? I'm having the same luck trying to find reasonable priced ones and may have to get new.

Well I am using all sizes and shapes of jars ranging from 4 to 8 ounces. I thought the 8 ounce jars would be really cute but I have to tell you, we made apple butter alllllll weekend and only came up w/ 70 jars so I highly recommend using smaller sizes...especially if you are planning to make 250 like we are!

I'm using Mason Jars for my centerpieces, anyway I got them at Meijer new, and I know they had other sizes for jam that were really cute! You may want to consider buying new, since this is prime canning time. I got a great deal -$7.50/dozen.
