PSA: envelope addressing/printing

i just spoke with signatures stationary at the galleria about their envelope printing. it's $0.85 per envelope and a flat $12 set up fee.in my case, since i can't get my printer to accept our envelope size, it was do this or print on labels (which i've already purchased, but my mom intercepted the idea). the store also does calligraphy, but i did not inquire their cost for that service.just incase anyone needed the info!

Why won't your printer accept your envelope size? Can't you just do a custom size on Word and play around with regular paper cut to size until it prints correctly? We didn't have regular size envelopes and this is what I did.

apparently not. i'm not sure. i fought with it last night with the custom size and it kept telling me paper size mismatched. i went through the troubleshooting directions to attempt to fix it, but it didn't work. and i don't have the patience to deal with it. i was going to have them done by a calligrapher in the first place, but then opted not to spend $200. taking them to signatures will cost me $85. and i don't have to fight with the printer to stop being lame. it's a win.

Then I am glad you found something that makes you happy (and doesn't have too big of an impact on your budget).

I'd be pulling out printable labels.  But I'm cheap.

:butting in: my calligrapher was only $63 for 100 invitations (that included inner and outer).  I go to pick them up tomorrow, so I can give a vendor review, but all of her sample work was great!

seriously?? who is the calligrapher and what was the turnaround time?
  • edited December 2011
3 weeks, and Tracy from LLM Calligraphy.  She is also doing my escort cards and all of the signs I need done.  I had to deliver from her and pick up of course, and she required 10% extra materials in case of error, but she's very easy going and great with email communication.  All of my addresses were 3 to 4 lines too, and all the states were spelled out, as was Street, Route, Avenue, etc.

Go here - www.tampacalligraphy.com. She charges $.50 per envelope, no set up fee (what is that anyway)? and has a normal turnaround time of 24 hours.
