Hotel rooms for Wedding Guests...

Hey there! So we are starting to think of hotel accommodations for guests and I have a some questions?1) How much is reasonable?2) Is it better to have a cheaper hotel or one closer to the venue?3) Does anyone have any recommendations in the Saratoga area?TIA!

    1) Our were $139 in Rochester... I thought that was reasonable (it's a nicer hotel) but it will vary by area. 2) I would say if you are anticipating a lot of OOT guests do 2 hotel blocks, one that is easily accessible to the venue, and one that is a little cheaper. If you are only doing 1, I say do it closer to the venue (if the price is within reason). 3) I'm from Rochester, so I can't help you there!

    1) Depends but I would say under $150 is reasonable 2) Both, give your guests the option. 3) We had a couple guests stay at the Holiday Inn in Saratoga.  It was quite nice but a bit on the pricey side ($169 group rate I think).

Our wedding is in July in Saratoga. We have rooms blocked in 3 places and my fiance haggled for the rates me got..Holiday Inn on Broadway $135 per nightBest Western South Broadway $225 Giedon Putnam $179 reg rooms & $199 deluxWe have a unique situation though..the opening of the race track was moved up (just last week) to our wedding weekend.  The Giedon and HI were booked ahead of time but the BW was booked after the date change.

aaand I just realized I didn't answer your question.. 1. based on rates I've paid to stay various places for peoples weddings I would say anything under $200 2. give people both options, which is easy to do in Saratoga 3. Giedon Putman, Hampton Inn, Holiday Inn, Hilton, Saratoga Arms

    1) This answer is different for everyone, provide your guests with a couple different choices in hotel selections. 2) This preference is different for everyone, again, provide your guests with options. There's nothing wrong with doing a couple different blocks. 3) can't help you there.

Sorry this is late. I've been to weddings where the prices ranged from $115-$150. I just have rooms blocked at one hotel close to the church (we'll be having a shuttle to the reception). I booked the Hilton Garden Inn in Saratoga. I'm sure the rate depends on when your wedding is, but I thought they were more than reasonable and have enjoyed working with them so far.
