Nu Image or Dan McCarthy

Hey Girls, I'm recently engaged and already have an issue that I'm struggling with. I've been on this board a few times and I see how helpful you all are to eachother, so I felt as though this would be the best venue to get the advice I'm seeking.I am considering using both Nu Image (the d.j.'s name is Guy) & Dan McCarthy for our wedding next year. I've heard really good things about both of them.A good d.j. is extremely important to me. I want the dance floor packed from beginning to end. I'm willing to spend the money for a really good d.j., but my dilemma is this; Dan McCarthy is 1/2 of what Nu Image is charging (Nu Image is $2500 and Dan is $1200). As I stated previously, they both have really good reviews. Can anyone let me know if they have used either of these d.j.s and if so what your recommendations are. Thanks so much in advance for your help.

Hey there! I was in a very similar boat. I've actually been to 6 or 7 weddings where nu image was the dj and they were all a blast... Muchbetter than any other weddings I've been to! However the 2500 seemed steep to me when I saw other good reviews for djs half of nu images price. That being said, I still went with nu image (I'm using guy too!) because I'm 100% confident in their ability to keep the floor packed and also be a great mc. It's up to u and I totally agree that 1k is a huge difference, but I def guarantee that nu image is fabulous. Gl! l!

We booked Dan McCarthy and so far he has been great to work with. Our wedding isn't until July, but I did alot of research before we booked him, and could not find anything negative - nothing but great reviews. We are paying $1400 (since it wont be offseason) but I was thinking that was little expensive!

hey! we booked with Dan for our wedding this past June but used Dennis. Dennis was amazing and I've been to other events with Dan there and he is great too. Obviously, I am biased but I say you can't really go wrong with him but its your choice in the end. Both seem to have great reviews so I guess it comes down to the money factor. GL!!

We're using Dan McCarthy for our wedding tomorrow. He was the only DJ we met with. Our friends used him for their wedding back in '07 and it was hands down one of the best weddings I had ever been to. FI is not a dancer, and he was even up and dancing all night. I don't think that a single seat in the place had anyone sitting in it for more than a minute or two. You'll also spend probably about half of what Nu Image would charge you if you go with Dan, and although I've never been to a wedding that Nu Image has done, I would be willing to bet that you would not sacrifice one bit of quality. If I were in your shoes, I would choose Dan- he's great to work with and he knows his stuff. I'll have a more comprehensive review when I return from my HM, but I feel confident recommending him based on the wedding we went to.

We used DM Productions but had Dennis McCarthy. We had an excellent reception and the dance floor was packed from start to finish. you cant go wrong with either Dennis or Dan!
