Father Daughter Dance

I have to let me DJ know by Monday all our songs and I want my Dad to choose ours, but he wants me to give him a list. Anyone have any suggestions, what did you use? what are you planning on using? TIA

    we are going to use "across the universe" by the beatles because i grew up listening to my parent's beatles records :) fiona apple also does a pretty version

    We started out with "Unforgettable" by Nat King Cole and Natalie Cole.  Then I mixed it up and we did some pieces of fun rap songs with a choreographed dance... it was hilarious!  Everyone loved it and people are still talking about my dad doing that dance.  Plus we had a lot of fun working on it together!

    I want to do something by Ray Charles but it's hard to find a song!  something Elvis is good...pick artists that reminds you of your Dad growing up - that's my plan!

    We also did a combo dance (mother/groom and father/bride). We used the classic 'What A Wonderful World' by Louis Armstrong, but Eva Cassidy does a pretty version.

    we're dancing to My Girl - Although i picked the song, i chose it because the tempations are my dad's all time favorite group. Plus it represents us well.

    We did "My Girl" as well but did Phil Collin's version because my dad is a big Genesis/Phil Collins fan and subsequently I grew up listening to a heck of a lot of Phil Collins :)

    We also used Just The Way You Look Tonight. My dad is a huge Sinatra fan, you can't go wrong with a classic!!! During each parent dance, about halfway through the song, we had the DJ invite other Mother/Sons and Father/Daughters to join us on the floor. It was a big hit with our guests, and took away from the fact that both my father and DH's mother don't like the attention on them! It also gives the photog some great photo ops of family members. GL!
