  Why not have him ask his mom to pick the son that she thinks is most significant of their relationship or him growing up This is one of those things that is really in honor of mom so let her pick the song

  We let his mom pick the song.  He's her only child so it was more important to her than to him, as far as the song choice.  She ended up choosing some really cheesy song neither of us had heard, but it's what she wanted so it's what we used!

  My FI is dancing with his mom to The Perfect Fan, by the Backstreet Boys.  I think it is a perfect song, great lyrics.

  How about "Days like this" by Van Morrison? At my daughter's wedding, they used "Sunshine on my Shoulders" by John Denver.

  I think we're also using "My Wish." It's perfect for us, not to cheesy but gets the point across There's a lot of good ones, maybe try google if you're still having trouble!! Good luck!
