Help!

My fiance and I are trying to find inexpensive wedding and reception sites for next summer (2010) in (or around) Toledo, but can't seem to find anything. We aren't against the idea of an outside wedding, but really want a backup spot in the same area in case of bad weather. Also, we really don't want to have to pay catering costs at a reception site, but can't seem to find any halls that don't cater! Any help would be greatly appreciated!

For non catering your best bet would be to go with a VFW hall, they're all that I found around here that doesn't have their own catering.

We are using Oak Shade Grove in Oregon. They only have a suggested list of caterers. I'm sure you could probably bring yoru own food, but you would have to call and ask. They have a beautiful outdoor pavilion as well as a nice indoor hall....you can rent both for not too much $. good luck

Hello! I needed to find a place that would let me bring in my own caterer (my family has their own business.) Try St. George Orthodox Cathedral's reception site, or call Lourdes College. I am not sure of the building's name, but you have to bring in your own (if you want it.) Hope this helps!

Try the Franciscan Center at Lourdes College. You can bring in your own caterer, but have to use their bar. The bar we are using is 9.00pp and 6.00pp for underage. I am getting married Saturday and let me just say we are under our budget. The hall is so nice.

I am using the Monclova Community Center and they allow you to bring in catering. They are charging $500 plus $150 deposit. It's a little out of the way but it's a nice place and holds 150 or so people. Our wedding is at Sidecut Metropark in Maumee.I know a friend of mine used the Sullivan Center at Gesu also and they allowed you to bring in catering. Another friend used Camp Miakonda and they also allowed you to bring in catering and I heard that they have a wedding spot there also.

My wedding is at the Simpson Garden Park in Bowling Green and then we are using SamB's resturant for catering. I loved the place because it is a garden/park location but it has a hall to have the reception inside. The site is just the cost of the building to rent for the day which is under $1000 and then you can rent plates, ect. from them. They have round tables with nice black chairs and can fit up to 160.

Don't know if you're still looking but the Polish Roman Catholic Union of America has a hall (200ish people max) and you can bring in own catering. Their bar setup is ridiculously cheap, it's recently painted, rental is affordable and you don't have to be a member. They have long tables and padded chairs for free use, small kitchen for caterers but they can't cook anything there. It's on Detroit south of Alexis, hall manager said they've never had any problems, and security is avail. if you want it.

Have you considered either the Ward Pavilion at Wildwood Metropark in Toledo or the Nederhouser Community Hall at Olander Park in Sylvania? Both hold about 150 people max and don't include catering.Ward Pavilion: http://tinyurl.com/mc6rmaNederhouser at Olander: http://tinyurl.com/nederhouser

Millbury fire hall is really big and you can bring your own catering and alcohol, you just pay for rental amd the bartenders. Very affordable.

We used St. Clement's hall on Tremainsville. We brought in our own catering and alcohol and saved a ton of money that way. The Knights hall on Secor and Conn-Weissenberger on Alexis also let you bring in your own caterer,

We have Ward Pavilion at Wildwood booked for May 8, 2010, but we're moving to a bigger hall because the guest list just doubled due to some new funds! They let you bring in everything, the hall includes tables, chairs, all the ice you need, and it has a nice kitchen too. We rented for $760 ish (first, we bought a membership to the metroparks for $40, that dropped the rental price down to $720 from $900)!But, if you are planning on putting people at round tables to eat, there is no way that you can fit 150 people in there. I wouldn't have more than 80 there for a sit down dinner, it's really not that big. But what's really nice is you can open up big doors on either side to two good sized patios.Good luck!

We're going with the Millbury Fireman's Hall. Most of my family lives in that area, and we have family reunions there yearly. They don't have air conditioning, so it'd be best to have it there in the cooler months. My wedding is on November 7th, if you're seriously considering the place, you could drop in and have a look at it when it's actually decorated.
