Hill country wedding officiant

My fiance and I are getting married in 6 months and we still do not have someone to preform the ceremony. We are both religous but just bought our house in this area. We are looking for a church, but have not found one yet. We need someone to preform our ceremony. The only problem is we are on a tight budget. I have found a couple that want $500 to $2000. This is a lot more then we can afford. Does anyone have any sugestions? We would like the person to attend the rehersal and then do a short ceremony. Any help would be appriciated!

There's a pastor at Shoreline that will perform ceremonies for non-members as long as they go through pre-marriage counseling. I think her name is Kelly Mata. I'm not sure how much she charges or how much the donation to the church is, but I'm assuming it is under $500.

I have seen several Knot postings about this group and have talked with Chaplain Larry Todd by phone. I fell in love with him over the phone. Organized and experienced, funny, and spiritual. http://www.austinweddingchaplains.com/All money paid to these retired chaplains goes to local charities.

I cannot say enough good things about Rev. Bonnie Connor. She did a wonderful job for our Sept. 12 wedding. She charges $295. Check out her website www.reverendconnor.com. Her husband also is a reverend and performs wedding ceremonies.

Thanks for these great replys.  I am actually trying to decide between Bonnie and one of the chaplains.  Thanks again!  You helped very much!
