Fort Wayne Venue Help!

We ended up having to push our date back due to problems arising and decided to have our wedding in Fort Wayne since we live here and it would be easier to get everything taken care of. However, we are needing some help finding the right venue! We originally were thinking about the Grand Wayne Center but it will be incredibly expensive. Are there any suggestions that you can help us with? We are planning on it being a traditional wedding for about 150-175 people in the winter of 2010. TIA!

There are some great places in Fort Wayne, I lived there my whole life up until earlier this year.  Here you go:We are going with the Landmark Conference and Reception center.  They don't list their prices online for obvious reasons.  It is an exquisite facility and they are moderately priced. My friends used the Indiana Hotel Lobby, which is a really neat historic building.  They chose Club Soda as their caterer.  150-175 people might be too many people for a venue of this size.  Also, their reception was maybe over 100 and was split on two levels.Bergstaff (or Berghoff Place) now named Venue 2020 is a very neat historical building that uses Ceruti's catering.  I personally am not fond of Ceruti's because they are horribly over-priced.  Some people like Ceruti's, but I know I avoided them and all their facilities. The Botannical Conservatory is awesome and holds receptions.  I believe you can choose any certified caterer from their list.  Although another FW knottie had a really bad experience with the Conservatory. As Jesi mentioned above, the Baker's Street Train Station is very nice.  I was very interested in it, but had a lack of funds since fiance and I are paying for most of wedding. The Holiday Inn at Coliseum (or IPFW) is moderately priced and might be a great option.Classic Cafe and Catering is lower-to-moderately priced.  They also cater to other facilities such as the Fort Wayne History Center. The Orchard Ridge country club is very nice, but might be too expensive.I have also heard that the new baseball stadium downtown has reception facilities.I'm at work, so I'm trying to give you the best information I can out of my head.  I have so much more information at home that I would certainly be willing to pass on.  The info has a huge list of caterers and reception halls that lists how many guests they can accomodate, whether they have round or rectangular tables, contact info, when to book in advance, etc.One other great secret that many don't know about, is that Fort Wayne Newspapers gives a free binder to brides for planning your wedding.  Just visit them sometime during business hours and go to the front desk, they have the binders behind their desk.If you have any questions feel free to page me, or otherwise we can contact one another later and exchange email, etc.Hope that helps, and good luck!!

We're having our reception at the Women's Club on the 3rd floor of the Chamber of Commerce building. It's exclusively with Ceruti's and I didn't think it was that expensive, but we booked it for the venue, not the catering. It's perfect for a wedding around 150 people.

I've been to a wedding at the Baker Street Junction for a wedding your size and it was gorgeous! I wish we had something that pretty down here.  The ceiling was so amazing!

I am getting married at the Baker Street Station. I absolutely love the place. It would be wonderful for a wedding your size. The rental fee is $4 a person and you can cater the menu to your budget. I have a couple pics in my bio. Good luck finding a place!

I am using the Fort Wayne Community Center. It is incredibly cheap, you can choose your own caterer or do your own food and bring your own beverages, as long as they are served by a bartender. You get the whole building for your reception and basically have free reign over everything. It holds up to 200 people and is a really nice space. Email me at huneam at verizon.net if you want any more info!

So girls I got to thinking about a few more reception venues.  Another really cool place is the Saloman Farm.  They hold receptions up to 150 people.  They rent their facility through Fort Wayne Parks. I think you can use any caterer. http://www.eventective.com/photo/70919.jpg  It's more of a country venue, but very neat if you are into that (like me!).  Fort Wayne parks website has other venues like the Community Center (as mentioned above), Follenger (sp) Theatre, and the Botannical Conservatory.  http://www.fortwayneparks.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=34:rental-facilities&catid=59:rental-facilites&Itemid=50Another place few places I got to thinking of, and I don't know if they are on that chart are:Park EdelweissThe ShilohElegant OccasionsLunz Reception HallThe HayloftPine Valley country clubSycamore Hills country clubChesnut Hills country clubScottish RiteSo there are plenty of places to check out.  If you have any questions feel free to ask.  I researched reception halls for months...
