I went to a few when I was planning my wedding.  I found it helpful mostly for ideas.  I found my cake vendor and linen vendor at one.  Turns out the linen vendor was a friend of my friend and a lot of the ladies that were here recommended her as well.  As for most other vendors I found them to be quite expensive and did my own research to find cheaper deals.

i was thinking about going to the riverside one this saturday since it is right here... but I dunno I think it will be more of the same thing, I went to the OC one because my wedding was down the street from the place and I figured I would get local vendors easier. thanks for your suggestions, yes I took lots of photos of flowers and other items and got GREAT ideas.

I went to one show in Long Beach and I ran into a vendor I was already using-- Bride and Bloom Flowers but I had already known about them from a friend so I didn't really "discover" them at the show. However, it made me feel more confident in hiring her becuase I loved her displays and pretty much thought the other flower booths were not nearly as good. That show was eye opening because everyone that had product I loved (unique and fresh) was priced mid range or high....and guess what ....the boring, bland, stuff was cheap. The lesson for me was, be prepared to shop around (bridal show, internet, etc) but remember that often times you get what you pay for so don't base it all on who will do it the cheapest.
