Wedding Arch

Hello!  I don't post too terribly much, but lurk at ideas quite a bit and to see were I am with you other Sept brides in planning.  But, I originally posted this on the DIY board and got no responses.  If anyone has any ideas, anything would help and is appreciated. TIA!

I know I have seen mixed reviews on having arches at the wedding and that they are old school, but we will be having two.  They are the white metal arches that are pretty frequently seen with the lighting.  I would love to somehow decorate them myself with white and black tulle....anyone have any pics they would mind sharing or any ideas/suggestions?  Thanks!

Re: Wedding Arch

  • We used to have an arch that we would use to decorate our room for pref night during sorority recruitment. We would just weave the tulle in and out between the railings holding it together. not sure what your arch looks like but this can really give it a nice look. sometimes we would also use white christmas lights inside of the tulle.

i'm not sure if you can see this picture or not, but click here!

  • Sorry no pics, but as long as it's not a balloon arch, it's all good haha
Seriously tho, i think the ones with the lights are very pretty and romantic :)

My sorority used an arch for pref night too.  We weaved tulle in like like PP stated.  We also tucked twinkle/white Christmas lights in the tulle, that way there were no exposed wires.

  • That is what I was thinking of doing, but just couldn't find any pics to see what it would look like, so thanks Kelly!  I can do that with the lights and then try to also wrap it around the front of the arch as well.

Mamameech - OH NO!  I am with you and do not like balloon arches!  :)

    Thanks girls for your help!
