NWR: Update on Oscar's Eyes...

So, I took him to the vet and you guys were right. It's a simple eye infection, thank goodness. She gave me some antibacterial drops and wipes. She also cut some of the hair below his eyes. And he has to wear a ponytail for awhile ;) Thanks so much for your advice last night! He should be all better in about a week. Here's a picture of his new do. Look how sad his itchy eyes are :(

• Expat, happy he's okay and it's just a slight infection!  In the thread earlier with him in the coat and booties, I almost fell on my office floor he was so cute! :)Hey, are you on fb?
• Awww, poor guy.Milhouse's eyes cleared up really quickly with the drops.  Hopefully he'll back to himself soon!

• Thanks everyone! Capri - My account is currently dormant :( Probably because I'm always on here.... If I get back on, I'll let you know!
• No worries.  Confession: I don't know your first name.  Is it weird you know mine, but I'm drawing a blank on yours?
• No worries. I'm not sure how I know yours - maybe I saw it in your bio? Mine's Alicia.
• Well, howdy do, Alicia! More than likely I'll still call you Expat though.  I kinda like it. :) Okay, son needs the laptop for homework and I need to pick up some dinner, because I am not cooking tonight.  So there.
• He is just so darling. I'm glad it was nothing serious! Did they give you that gel stuff to put on his eyeball? My Oskar had some eye issues a few months ago. :)

• I'm glad everything worked out...I may have mentioned in my post about the hair in his eyes...you may need to keep that trimmed so it doesn't get irritated again...

• I dig the pony :)
• Aw, poor Oscar. I'm glad to hear he's alright! What kind of dog is he again? He's just too cute!

• He is a sweetheart! I'm glad its not allergies and that he will be all better soon. :) Our lhasa used to wear a ponytail, until he figured out if he dragged his head across the floor it would come out. Little did he know, he lowered his cuteness quotient by quite a bit w/out the pony and that means less treats at the drive thru windows. Oscar looks too darn cute!
• glad it was something so simple!!!! did the doctor mention anything about the chewing at the feet and mouth noises??? the ponytail is super cute! my grandfathers shihtzu rocks a pony non-stop! i love it!
• Aww, glad to hear it, Expat! I think he looks rather saucy with his hair in a ponytail, myself......He looks like he's saying, thanks, mommy, for taking good care of me and making my eyes feel better; but why do I feel so wooooooooooozzzzzzzzyyyyyyy?????????????

I love you Missy. Even though you are not smart enough to take online quizzes to find out really important information. ~cew
• Answers: - Yes, as you suggested last night, the hair on the bridge of his nose did need to be trimmed... - No, he didn't get a gel. He got drops instead, which is a little easier to apply, I think. - He's a shih tzu - the world's best shih tzu, actually ;) - About the "feet eating" and mouth noises: No allergies, so he probably chews his feet for fun/as a bad habit. The mouth noises are probably him then trying to get hair off his tongue! The vet suggested that we scold him when he's eating his feet so that's he'll stop that and the ensuing noises. - Yes, I agree that he's a little saucy looking! Thanks to everyone who gave advice or well wishes!
