Vent: I had a complete melt down last night

I realize if I read this post on Sunday I will realize I am being a whiney little hineyhole, but last night I completely melted down:I am PMSing and am probably going to get my period on wedding day or the day beforeThe weather is going to suck on saturdayTrying to make me feel bettter FI pulled up the 10 day forecast for Tahiti and it says it is going to rain for the foreseeable futureFMIL called FI to tell him to tell me (not him by the way) not to get drunk at the wedding otherwise I would embarass EVERYONE.  WTF?I worked so hard to grow my nails and the only one that broke is on my left ring finger (Figures)I talked to the assigned photographer yesterday and he seems to be a total douche_bag.The hotel changed their story every other day as to how our shuttle worked and how many people could take it and now told me the hired 4 vans to accommodate everyone PLUS some - we already hired and paid for a supplemental shuttleDid I mention I am PMSing....OK vent over.....

aw neilly...everything is going to be ok. You were so excited about the umbrellas the other day, look forward to that!Like the Caribbean and Hawaii, it probably says it's going to rain every day in Tahiti but it won't. If anything it'll sun shower every afternoon. Don't worry about that.I hear you about the nail. I have one freaking nail that is cracked. Driving me nuts. Can you get a tip put on that one nail. I'm sure a nail salon can help you out!No advice for the photographer. Just make sure you tell him what you want...you're the bride.Oh as for FMIL, call her a twatwaffle and get drunk at the wedding and embarass her on purpose. :o)

Oh neilly it will be ok, take some deep breaths and get yourself a little comfort. You are so excited about the umbrella pictures.  Think of it this way wouldn't you rather know it was going to rain than have to keep going back and forth not knowing what it was going to do.For our Hawaii honeymoon before we left it was going to rain every day the whole time...not a drop did fall for 2 weeks.Forget the FMIL and damn that nail.  As it you said it figures.

Thank so much - it most definitely is the PMS, but there is something about the word twatwaffle that makes all things better.

Rain is good luck on your wedding day. Its going to be awesome no matter what the weather.I didnt even know they had clouds in Tahiti.. Did I tell you my theory on wetherpeople/channels/sites?  They are all liars and I picked the wrong career!  I am sure it will be beautiful. No one will notice your nail.  Go get a fakey if you need to. No idea what hotel your using, but I would call them and tell them that you already paid for a shuttle so since they cant make their minds up you want compensation for this.  Meaning a few extra compd rooms.UGH FIL. Who cares what they say... Its your wedding and tell them to blow it our thier A$$ (this is my favorite phrase ever BTW)Perk up!

I agree with Chelsea, be the boss to the photog, and make sure you ask to see a few shots on his camera along the way to make sure he is capturing what you are looking for (but do it in an excited bride to see her photos way, not in an i don't trust you, let me check out your work way).  And Tahiti is probably like Florida, there is always a chance of afternoon sun showers that will go away within the hour.  Before I left for my honeymoon, we were supposed to have crappy rainy weather the whole time in Cape Town, and it was beautiful most of the time. Some areas are just hard to predict, so the go with rain.  A good manicurist can work wonders with a broken nail, don't worry too much about that one.  Just remember that at tne end, you get to be the beautiful bride and marry the love of your life, the rest is just icing :-)

I hear you.  I would be pissed to but my MOH got married and it rained the entire day and was miserable for their honeymoon.  They have been married for 4 months and are happier than I have ever seen them.  Its not the one or 10 days that matters.  Its the rest of your life together.  But still I hear you and would be venting too.

Breath.  YOu'll be okay.  Like everyone said, the umbrellas will be cute, and you won't care about the rain once you're there.  Tahiti will be wonderful, rain or no rain.  it's not like it'll be cold and rainy.  And i highly doubt it will rain the whole time.  Get one tip on your nail.  no one will notice.  the photographer will be doing his job on the wedding day, you won't notice.  call him a cuntcake if he gets out of line.  The shuttles will be fine, your guests will do what they have to do to get there...WORRY ABOUT YOU.lastly .... get REALLY drunk and carry around a spoon on your wedding day.  As the guests ask nicely what it's for, tell them you're holding it for MIL so she can eat your arse with it.AGain....BREATHE....you will be beautiful, the day will be beautiful, and yes, come sunday you WILL laugh!!!!

Breathe...it'll all be fine... Don't let the things that you can't control, take control over you.... FMIL is a twatwaffle.....just think of that whenever she opens her mouse....smile while you think that too...The rain in Tahiti is not a big deal, like others have said is probably like the Caribbean, if it rains is only for a couple of minutes...

I think I was having a PMS moment but the vent and all your responses have really helped Cher- those pictures are really incredible actually Erika - I do plan to drink, but don't planned to be smashed.  I told FI to tell FTWIL that I am perfectly capable of being embarassing even when completely sober - so sorry to be a disgrace
  • edited December 2011
when i said drink i didn't mean get rip roaring drunk and take your wedding dress off....i meant have a few cocktails to take the edge off and enjoy yourself.
  • edited December 2011
I disagree with Erika - I think you should take your dress off!

Erika - I knew what you meant! Sorry if my response did not convey that, but I am think that a little streaking will make the wedding that much more memorable

I'm sorry you're feeling like this! Try to relax, maybe go get a drink with a friend and blow some steam off. Everythin about your wedding day is going to be perfect no matter what happens. Have them put a wrap extension on your nail- I grow mine as well and it blends an looks more real to me if you have to do that to just one. Tell who ever told you not to get drunk to take a chill pill and drink whatever you want. After all this stress you deserve it! It's your day no matter who thinks they'll be embarrassed. And like pps said I'm sure the wear only means showers- I wouldn't sweat it.

A little advice from someone who just got married in gross weather- don't sweat the small stuff!!! My wedding was perfect and amazing, my pics were gorgeous, and it rained the entire day! In the grand scheme of things, these things are all trivial and your wedding will be wonderful no matter what!! Don't forget what's important- you and your almost hubby!!
  • edited December 2011
Thanks for the advice -- I am glad you had a wonderful day!

It's like anything in life, it's what you make of it.  Your wedding day will be wonderful if you don't allow anything to affect you negatively.  It's a day of joy that starts off a lifetime of happiness--so enjoy! Lisa Beth
