Well mine is going to be on a Friday. I guess it just depends on your guests ( are most from out of town and this is going to be a vacation to them) or if you are ok with ending the wedding a bit early? I wouldn't mind going to a Monday wedding but I am also not going to party all night the way I would at a Fri or Sat wedding. Just my thoughts

I had my wedding on a Sunday night, but it was a holiday that Monday, so people were able to stay later.  Friday is a good day as long as a lot of people aren't from out of town and it doesn't start too early.  Many people won't want to take potentially two days off from work to get there on time.

I had mine on a Friday and I don't think the turn-out would have been any different on a Sunday.  I wouldn't suggest a day wedding though if you choose Friday.  And it meant I had the whole weekend to just relax!
  • I'm thinking of a Thursday.. since all the recpetions venues that we are looking at are booked :( I just hope that the priest agrees with us... lolz Anyone else with a thrusday wedding??? plus is cheaper too....

Thursdays can be tough if people have to work Friday.  Just something to remember.  I have to think of that even with a Friday wedding - some people took off early (or the whole day).

We're doing a Sunday wedding. I haven't heard many complaints about it. I think everyone will still show up, especially since we'll be done around 9pm. The furthest our family will be coming from is 1.5 hrs, so they will still get home at a half way decent hour.

Just a note as a guest who has been to a couple weddings other than a Saturday... No one will complain about the day to your face, but the majority of guests will complain behind your back, or ask the question "Why are they getting married on a friggin' Thursday, Sunday,?" Now, I wouldn't let this stop you from planning it on the day that works best for you, especially if it saves you money. Those that want to be there will make it work!

I had my wedding Sunday at 5, and the reception ended at 9:30. We had several couples leave early because they had to drive several hours back home, but for the most part everyone stayed. And to my knowledge, no one RSVP'd no just because of the day it was on. I did get some comments, but I just ignored them. I'd say do what you want to do, people that really love you and want to be there are going to be there, regardless of the day.

Another great reason to have it on a Fri or Sun...those assholes won't show up and you can just celebrate with the people who are excited for you and want to be there.
  • Completely agree :O) wedding is on for a Thursday :O) if the priest agrees to it :O) will cross my fingers..... My mom told me the same thing... who wants to be there and loves you guys will show up no matter what..............

I really think it depeneds on who you invite. If you invite a lot of people you are not that close to then they may have a problem with it but anyone you are close to should be ok with it. I had my wedding on a Saturday just because I wanted to and it worked out because our cruise was leaving the next day but most of my friends and family took off our entire wedding week anyway. Our house was filled with friends and family all week.  So I really think it depends on who you invite.
